I should've known that.

Unfortunately while my flu has got to bearable levels, i wont be training.

I have come across some VERY nasty side effects.

Ive recently had dark green stool, is this dangerous or quite common?

In the past 3-4 days ive been

Quite dehydrated(have been drinking, not serious dehydration, but standard amounts like all flu)
multi vit pills
sugary sweets for energy (cant keep anything else down)
tiny amount of rice 2 days ago
lemsips

Hopefully someone posts back with any info

from google it appears to be normal as long as it doesnt persist, but the causes didnt come under flu, so ****...Unless its due to so many liquids and all kinds of sugary stuff then crap.

Oh and my temp WAS 40 for quite some time, but it went down to 38-39 afterward for yesterday, which was still pretty damn horrible, im down to a normal 37 now, and feeling better, but still sore throat, bunged nose, weakness, and slight dizziness (but im pretty sure thats from lack of solid food for quite some time)

My weights plummeted to 148lbs, this flu has sucked all the fat off my body i had left haha!

my ribs poke out loads without even lifting my arms or strecthing etc, looks damn gross.

Yeah im starting to be able to eat solid foods again (mainly unbuttered toast now as it appears to keep my stomach/bowels calm) and il try and eat some oranges and bananas soon when i have the guts to do it lol.

In response to your PM dan, i think im gonna stop pyramidding/supersetting and start off with a standard 1 minute rest between each set and wait til ive got more weight and training behind my belt til i start supersetting again.

Truth is, you need to build up slowly as if you never worked out before.

Give yourself a week to replenish nutrients and then start the first week with only 1 set per bodypart 12-15 reps...traing the whole body each of 3 non-consecutive days -- M - W - F

No more than 30 minutes of training.

If you are feeling fully recovered after that...stay with full body 3x a week or switch the workout to a split but either way move to 2 sets per bodypart! 9-12 reps

No more than 40 minutes of training.

Next week try 3 sets per bodypart! 9-12 reps

This will slowly bring up the nervous system and energy systems without causing a catabolic hormone spike!  While at the same time allowing you to get reasonable muscle coverage per week.

Yeah i thought id just get straight back to it lol, it worked, kind of...It got results but theyve gone now Smile

But im not too worried about that anymore, about the time its gonna take.
Ive got plenty of time, il do what you suggested and gradually get more intense.

Dan would you say using a smith machine to squat is cheating or not?
Because my gym doesnt have a power cage anymore which really pissed me off, and basically was wondering whether i should convert to dumbells (which i can get to 220lbs with, as the dumbells only go to 110lbs in my gym) or just stick it out with mr smitthy for the next 5-6 months of my membership and then buy my own power cage when i get my own garage gym going?

You will still see results, even with the progression I spelled out!
In fact you will think it is silly how easy your results were by week 4!

It is not cheating, if you have no spotter and no cage to protect you...it is the next sane way to get under the poundage!

I used a smittty while training at sea...I am sure you can picture doing squats on the high seas! Smile
The distinction is that ole smit does not make you use the assisting muscle to balance, so you usually end up using more pounds..but that is just a trick!

Alternately...to maintin balance strength while using the smith...try 1-leg dumbbell squats! (same side or opposite side with the weight)
That will blow your mind.

Try 1-leg dumbbell stiff leg deadlifts. (opposite side with the weight.)

So here's the deal I am completely new to this whole website. I just starte dchecking out different forums and got this one which is awesome cause twisted me and you have pretty much the same starting stats. I dont know my measurements but I am 6 ft. 145 lb. So I figured this is a good place for me to get some advice plus I have seen some of Danmirages other posts and you seem extremely knowledgable and do really good research. So anyway I have a few questions. what kinf od meals are you eating to get 800 calories a meal. Also would it be smart to train 5 days in a row different muscles each day for about 45 minutes a day and then take 2 days off? I ask this because my girlfriend lives a good ways away from me and i see her every weekend so i end up staying there and not being able to go to the gym. I had another question but I forgot what it was. I hate when that happenns. Anyway I would most defenitely appreciate any advice that could be given. thanks

Probably not the best plan.

Either
A/B off A/B off/off (see the SAIS training program in the gaining mass post in my signature)
OR
A1 off A2 off A3 off/off (see the 3-day training 8 week program in the gaining mass post in my signature)
OR even
A off B off C off/off

Start a new thread in "training" with your stats, goal, something about your lifting history, your diet, and what you are looking for overall...then we can go to town!

Don't worry i don't mind the hijacking, he's new so he didnt know.
Im starting to eat solid foods in medium quantities again now, but feel bad still.

to get 800 cals i usually eat 100-150 grams pasta with gravy and a tin of tuna, or meatballs, or chicken if im feeling generous towards myself.

Illness does suck, luckily symptom wise i feel loads better though, im gonna spend the rest of the week off resting and then come back with a nice simple routine, dan, how does this workout sound to you?

This is a monday/wednesday/friday system like ive always done.
week1
day1 chest/lats/bis

3 sets of 10 reps standard Bench
3 sets 10 reps lat pulldowns
3 sets of 10 reps barbell curls

60 seconds rest between each set

day 2 back/legs/abs

3 sets of 10 reps squats
3 sets of 10 reps deadlifts
3 sets of 10 reps decline crunches
3 sets of 10 reps barbell bentover rows

day 3 tris and shoulders

3 sets of 10 reps weighted dips
3 sets of 10 reps military press
3 sets of 10 reps barbell skull crushers


week 2
day 1
std bench
flys
lat pulldown
lat cable pulldown
barbell curls
std curls

day 2
squats
lunges
deadlifts
b/o barbell rows
reverse flys
decline crunches

day 3
barbell skull crushers
dips
military press
arnold press

week 3

Mix and match with some more exercises but never more than 3 exercises per muscle group per week, and use different exercises each week apart from core compound lifts.

And sorry grant but no, i havent watched the film, anything made by mel gibson is guaranteed to have more innacuracies than anything. And his weird fetish for being physically punished lol.

I have a slight....big pet peeve against mel, the same goes for john travolta, tom cruise, jim carrey, jalo, christopher walken, pierce brosnan and some others i dont want to list or may have to throw up from concentrated celeb **** LOL.

I think you need to dial the intensity Waaay back the first week becaue you need to bring the system up slowly!

You want to avoid catabolic hormones...while strengthening your immune system.

LOL yh most  celebs piss me off. There was a programme on tv earlier about how the celebs are basically damageing the kids in britain, because of the way they are ( perfect apparently), and there making us all see as are selves as ugly hehe.

i was expecting to hate the film, but i actually found it fairly good i was expecting mel gibson to be in it, but he just directed it. I Wouldnt usually of watched it, its just ive come into about 100 pirate dvds so ive spent my whole holiday watching them Smile

Ok il take out them b/o barbell rows for the first week.
And il put them in my 2nd week for lats.

that way ive just got 3 exercises per day on the first week, thats not too much strain, thats like 1/3 of what i have been doing recently given i didnt rest much between sets either lol.

If there pirated then fair enough LOL, celebs here are retarded, such as jade goody.
I cant believe what a hissy fit this country gets into just because of a ****ing word popodom.
It's extremely sad to live here, it's times like these when i actually sympathise with hitler and realised why he wanted to racial cleanse everyone-because the european people are 25% inherently ****ing stupid Smile
