And people doubt and question my science, PAH!

PAH is what i say to them!

my BBing life rocks (im actually going to hit a seriously lean 170lbs soon, VERY soon, that in itself is miraculous for me lol)
my academic life rocks
My love life rocks

The only thing getting me down is that my life is rocking so much right now, the only thing that can happen now is bad stuff, anymore good stuff will just keep the rockiness to the same level.

Thats your daddy.. I know because you said he has problems with his legs I think you said knees or something? His squats have to be controlled on a smith and he does not use much weight.

His upper body you say is pretty damn big and it would have to be to do that many sets with that kind of weight on the bench and also a 170lb barbell curl thats insane! His max is probably around 335 - 350 no doubt.

I am going to assume you said it was his knees that were the problem because he still did a crap load of weight on the stiff leg deadlifts.

knees slightly, but mainly his left ankle (i think its left lol)

TBH the deadlifts werent surprising, ive seen him lift up things at work ive estimated to be 400 odd lbs, so i knew he would be able to deadlift in excess of 350lbs, because it is a bar-better grip, and he can do more weight with worse grip.

squats he didnt like LOL-which is fair enough, he hasnt got small legs per se (i dont know his stats, theyre not uge legs, but theyre pretty big) and i thought hed be able to do more than 220lbs, i guess not, i used to be on 220lbs for 10 reps, and my legs are much smaller

benchpress i am also surprised, i thought hed be able to do more personally, but 265lbs for 7 reps isnt exactly bad for the FIRST time hes done it in his life EVER, he was slightly wobbly, but not as bad as most new benchers, guess as his job hes used to controlling things etc.

Barbell curls im also surprised with, hes lifted me with one arm before when i was 140lbs, but admittedly-he used bodyweight and back too, so i guess thats why.

As to the ankle-it only hurts when he stops moving or puts too much weight for too long periods of time, thats why he can deadlift a tonne but cant squat much (under constant pressure)

he tried sumo, but he has long legs (dads family height comes from the legs, were bottom long) and he kept hitting his knees, and couldnt keep his back straight, as soon as i set him onto SLDL's-he was happy and repping lol

I guess for his first workout its ****ing impressive, but i honestly thought he was stronger, we had been plastering for like 7 hours solid before this though, so that mightve weakened him

If im honest i was expecting a good 308lbs benchpress for 8-10 reps
400-500 deadlifts and
308lbs squats

But hey, that would be pretty insane for a first timer, i still think hes the strongest guy i know Smile

even the big dudes at the gym were thinking "wtf"

even better when i mentioned it was his first time, HAHA, theyve been training for years to have 265lbs maxxes, and hes there repping it 7 times first go ROFL.

I was not impressed with my father when he lifted for the first time.. But yours did way better then mine!

My old man only hit like 205 1 time... everything else his form freaking sucks he throws his back into everything just to get it up.. But still was not doing any thing close to what I was doing... Now he is fairly strong though.. Your father may be doing that now but if he goes to the gym for 6 - 7 months straight like my dad I garantee he will be repping 315 on the bench for 10 reps and squatting 305 for reps Possibly deadlifting 405 - 500.

Not to mention Alcohol does wear you down I can't drink and go to the gym in the same day or I do horrible. He only did 265 so little time because he was tired from all of the other sets.. I think he was just keeping it light and working with the 200 - 225 because he did not want to get injured. Not to mention he does not have balance yet.

there are plenty of body builders who do anything to get the weight up on the barbell curls they also use their back.. I don't, but many others do especially when it comes to the last few sets.

lol probably but hes way too busy to go there that many times, he works 7 days a week from 7-3-4 ish depending, then 6-10pm mon-thursday

so he pretty much has hardly ANY free time, and sleeps whenever he gets home where hes so tired.

I just wanted to see where hes at right now

Yeah he stayed at the low 200's because he didnt want an injury, he said his ankle hurt a bit on it, and didnt wanna push it, i mean, if his ankle goes totally-hes out of a job

He did begin to cheat on the curls when he first started but told him to stop, he didnt nessecarily need to cheat on the first set, but he did to make it that much easier i guess LOL.

Overall id say his form was good

curling he was strict on, couldve been stricter, but nothing worth making a lift even 10lbs lighter as it were
squats werent that great, but TBH smith squats are a pain in the ass-literally LOL
deadlift form was excellent, hes been picking things up from the ground for years so he knows how to properly lift heavy stuff from far down

benchpress he was wobbly, but not as much as other new people ive seen.

To be honest i still think 265lbs was 7 reps because that was his max, he didnt struggle at all on 132lbs or 176lbs,only on 220lbs i started to notice the reps slowed down and face more concentrating lol.

He didnt want to max for injury reasons, but if you can push out 280lbs with your benchpresses, im sure his max is probably around the 308-335lbs mark, maybe not quite 350lbs-i dont know lol.

Thing is his job is very physical, so its not as if hes a random joe starting weightlifting, hes been lifting heavy things for years, which is probably why he is strong for a "first timer"

Im sure if i got other 250lbs labourers/plasterers in the gym there figures would be similar too.

I should actually be able to hit more now.. I did do 245 6 times just this week and I did it fairly easy.. So my max has to have gone way up. your father did 20lbs more then me for an extra rep. But I was assuming because he did so many sets without all those other sets he can probably do 265 x 10 and max in the low 300's. I only did 185 x 10 215 x 8 and then 245 x 6. so my whole 10 8 6 4 This up coming week I will have to throw on some more and do 4 reps. LoL now you got me wanting to give the 265 a try for reps Although I don't think I will hit it that many times 7 times is pretty damn impressive after he did everything else!
