missed your post there wicked, thanks for the input! very appreciated.

And yes if i keep working out until 30 im sure i'll be one hell of a big guy, might even get to be almost as big as my dad Smile

I dont personally wanna go over 220lbs 6-8% BF though, which is what IBB wants, but hes 1" taller, so yeah, and were both similar bodytypes too and frames, so really its good because what works for him usually works for me and what works for me should work for him, swap workouts etc lol.

yeah 220 8% is my goal by the end of next year but would like to hit around the 250-260lb mark with 6-8%bf

from memory youre 6'1" arent you? or you posted 6'0" but in cm and the cm was 6'1"....something like that.

remember arny was 6'1" and 235lbs at 5% BF, and you wanna be 15-25lbs heavier at only 3% more fat.

Not doing you down, just saying-dont be too disheartened if you never get there (im sure you could if you bumped the BF up to 12%) but hey, 220lbs at 8% BF is still freakin huge man!

that in itself should keep you happy for your life in terms of natural bodybuilding!

you'll get there eventually vdk, what you see is 4 years work, 3 years half assed, and 1/2 a year proper, but still, it takes time, my gym partners quit because he "cant see gains"

I said eat and you will, and he said "i dont wanna get fat"

so sat down and drank 14 pepsis...idiot.

Thanks for the motivation Smile.

BTW, twisted have you ever tried HST before? I'm sure you've heard of it, it's basically full body workouts 3x a week, doing 1-2 sets for each muscle only for each session. I started it just yesterday. Although I'm kinda annoyed that I can't do squats due my knee pain. Though I started to do some squats yesterday without weights, I might actually go see my doctor as the pain has gone worse even though I haven't done any leg work with it.

Oh yeah that reminds me about the glucamine sulphate thing! sorry dude i was so wrapped up in exams and sleep deprived i forgot!

Il get right on it now ive got nothing to do lol

But yeah go see a doc, knee pain shouldnt really be a problem for a young guy if theyre fully healthy and operational, hopefully its nothing

sometimes my knees do something weird, feel like they need clicking but if i stretch my leg totally straight it feels uncomfortable, do it standing up-hurts, feels like the bone is overlapping slightly and out of place.

I have heard of it but dont know much about it, like i said im up to try anything, il do my own thing until it runs dry, then IBB's, and then il do some HST, because routines dont last too long for me i should be doing HST somewhere in august.

2 sets seems like it wont wear the muscle out too much allowing you to work the body more without as much rest, whether it is good at stimulating we'll see, i just want to try everything out right now, im actually at a happy weight and strength so dont mind experimenting a bit, the want of more mass is still there but not quite as urgent.

I might look defined but im still twig like, i want that big ripped look, im hoping it starts to show at 180lbs

You should download the FAQ guide from the HST forum site, and maybe consider giving it a go. I'll post an extract here:

This does not mean that the structural repairs to the tissue have been completed. Research has demonstrated that you can train a muscle before it is fully recovered structurally and not inhibit its ability to continue to recover. So, HST uses this evidence and calls for repeated loading (training) every 48 hours or so to keep the anabolic activity of the muscle high, while trying to stay slightly ahead of the structural recovery curve by constantly increasing the load each workout. Staying ahead of the structural recovery curve is really key to elicit real growth in a person who has lifted for quite a while. Of course, injuries can develop over time if care isn't taken to take time to heal, and prepare the tendons for repeated heavy bouts of lifting (SD and 15s serve this purpose in HST).

1) "Recovery" can refer to the structural repair process of fixing the micro trauma. The damaged proteins can takes several days to be repaired and all evidence of damage removed. Even at the end of seven days after significant muscle damage from eccentric muscle actions, you may still see some small fibers regenerating.
2) Strength - this can be acute recovery as in the necessary time to rest between sets. Or it can mean the days that it usually takes to regain baseline strength after muscle damaging exercise.
So the trick is to have the CNS "recover" just in time to hit the muscle again as the acute anabolic effects are wearing off. That way you can stay anabolic more of the time. Training once every 7 days will still allow you to grow, it just takes longer for the gains to accumulate. Training more frequently is more efficient if your goal is just to get bigger
To understand, you have to consider the total volume over time. A week is easiest to consider, so, over the course of a week, it is the total volume that is important. So 9 total sets for chest can be done in one workout or in several workouts. Both will stimulate growth. However, you will be anabolic more of the time if you can actually create that stimulus more often. In the case of HST, 3 times as often. There is a physiological benefit (acute anabolic effects of training) in doing 9 sets as 3 sets X 3 workouts, as opposed to 9 sets all at once - and then nothing for the next 7 days.

oh i know but itll be fun to try and get there naturally, might be 50 but im gonna try for it besides your supposed to set your goals outta reach. yeah im 6'1" same as IBB. gootta reach for the stars. but again lookin good bro

thanks grant, and to save money (lol) from that text, i think ive managed it from being pretty weak to begin with, you were strong to begin with, so its harder adding on the lbs

176LBS 2 TIMES!

I was doing 155lbs to see how many i could do, going slow and ALL the way down to chest i managed 4 first time, and lost courage as i didnt have a spotter, got adrenaline rushing and did it 6 times, but still felt i could have maybe gone for a 7th or even 8th.

I then asked for a spotter to see my absolute max on 155lbs but then thought why bother getting someone to spot me for reps?

Lets go all the way, so loaded on 176lbs expecting one rep

first rep was amazingly easy actually, i didnt feel much strain compared to usual, 2nd rep i got lock pointed, but got past it just about!

DAMN happy with that!

Im benching today because friday im working now, though my dad is coming to the gym friday, so his stats shall be in here friday/saturday time!

then i did pullups

3 sets of 7

barbell rows

3 sets of 66lbs for 12 reps nice and slow.
I went slow and purposefully made sure to use my actual lats, and feel them pulling the weight up and easing it down, barbell rows target lats, but using a lower weight you can feel just them being used almost, im figuring this out with benchpress too, rather than just getting it in the air, im trying to feel the muscle and use just that, and it appears to be working well!

pulldowns

115lbs for 2 sets of 10 reps

preacher DB's
2 sets of 12 VERY slow reps at 12kg DB's.

Then i came here lol.

Thats alot of body parts in one day.  did you also try changing up your grip on each movement?  Yet keeping your same routine? 


Your about as strong as I was after I had left bootcamp in the military.. I was 155lbs though... But your lower body is where I was last year.    Your coming along so well its really impressive.   Once you get to 185 or soo Not sure what that is in KG You may be able to get to 205 pretty fast.   I would set a goal for 205 right now.    One more thing.. .It seems you have dominated the 135lbs.. So now warm up with only the bar on there just to get the joints warmed up.. Then!  Only work with 155lbs and don't go below it.   Know what I am saying?  Thats pretty much what I did once I hit 185lbs I never went below 155 - 165lbs  I use to work out with 135lbs  Now its just a simple movement to warm up my joints.. It feels like there is no weight on the bar.

yeah 132lbs is feeling a lot lighter lately, i dont know whether to quite keep to 155lbs yet, i can see where youre coming from though, dont make the muscles use less or theyl get used to less and i wont gain strength or maintain-but lose.

Thing is i dont know if these figures will stay, i know im definitely on 143lbs, but sometimes i have fantastic bench days and then next time im tonnes weaker and go back to normal lol.

But i will still try out 155lbs, il probably do one set of 132lbs, if i hit an easy 10-il do 155lbs, if i do a medium 10-143lbs a hard 10-somethings gone very wrong lol.

I wont be doing varying grips until my current regimen screws up...thing is i havent really been sticking to it lately...10-6-3-6-10 worked well while doing it, but right now ive just been doing 3-5 sets of whatever i can do...hence the random numbers...

It doesnt appear to be doing anything negative in my training, but i know its only temporary and my body will get used to it, as soon as the strength and weight gains start slowing down, il try your varying grips for bench deadlift and some other compound movements.
Then once that has run dry il try vdk's HST

If you want to see progress from other routines-post them up, il do them lol, i really do just wanna do as many routines as i can to see what theyre like

right now im thinking most routines are worthy of doing and most gain size and strength, the reason they fail for some people is stagnation and poor diet, im keeping my body on its toes and keep going high reps low reps with different sets and different speeds and its just going "wtf is going on here?" and i dont know if its a sign of "stress" but quick fatloss happens when your body is stressed a lot mentally and physically...so maybe changing up this many times sheds bodyfat too??

I know youre injecting IBB but have you noticed since youve been varying workout styles the past 10 weeks you have become a lot leaner too?

I reckon its keeping the body having to stay at optimum working because each attack is different.

I steadly went off of the injections last week I gained my strength in the past 2 weeks the beginning weeks I could not get much stronger but my weight did go up..  As far as getting lean I did all those core work outs while juicing because I knew it was going to shed the fat off there is no possible way im going to lose muscle while injecting.  

But yeah with the new routine I have noticed major success not only in strength but adding quality muscle.   If anything right now I should be just starting to lose strength... But that does not seem to be happening.  


Oh one more thing!! the last picture of myback was taken like 2 - 3 weeks ago.. The new picture I have is shreded now.. its only been 2 weeks which is the same time I have been using the routine.. Sure my gains are amped but god damn that much of a change in BF% in only 2 weeks along with the lean mass gains in certain areas of my body.

haha yeah im glad youre off that stuff now, its nice to see your gains arent slowing down either and that youre still getting more shredded!

did you say your friend who changes grips was shredded too?

our sample size is now 3, when you train differently each time with speeds/grips/sets/reps you lose fat or have low fat lets try and bump that sample size up! lol.
