Well it is time to tighten the diet a bit more for a few weeks - I don't usually go this low with carb and cals but I need to for a little bit. I have to get super hard to pull off a win for this show.

Here is the plan:
Foods

Cals/ Fat/ Carb /Prot
Oatmeal, cooked, regular, fat not added in cooking ( 0.75 cup, cooked ) 109/ 2/ 19 /5
Finfish, snapper, mixed species, cooked, dry heat ( 2 fillet ) 435/ 6/ 0/ 89
Rice, brown, medium-grain, cooked ( 0.6 cup ) 131/ 1/ 28/ 3
Banana, raw ( 1 extra small (less than 6" long) ) 75 /0 /19 /1
Interactive Nutrition Protein ( 2 serving ) 260/ 0 /2/ 62
Almonds, unroasted ( 0.25 cup, whole, unblanched ) 205/ 18/ 7/ 8
Broccoli, raw ( 1 cup, flowerets ) 20/ 0/ 4/ 2
Total 1235/ 27/ 78/ 169

The four numbers after each food listed above follow the cals/fat/carb/protein in that order, even in the total. I will stop quinoa for a spell and go with brown rice and omit Udos, just for this tighter part.

I may have tilapia or even cod and may sneak a tenderloin steak in there, although I don't eat meat...........pre contest I have a steak once or twice per week and just close my eyes.:D

I am pms  now so its not a good time for pics and I feel like water under skin, and last bit of belly fat under belly button is like a tiny tire but with an hour cardio per day I think I should be okay and not need to double that, although I may by next week if I feel it is needed.

I took Sunday off, but trained Monday and Tues, but being that I cannot stand up long, seriously.......I had to do all my work seated or bent or lying...........and could only do the upright bike which means it reflects in an hour what I burn on the stair master in 20 mins! User Posted Imageissed:
But its better than nothing. My personal training has been painful but I just sit while they train unless I have to spot, so here I am hanging all over the gym equipment........but it was the only way to keep going, at home I just sit and try not to move much.:(

Anyway, I have a guest performance on the 29th..........good luck.
And this weekend I have cpr, good thing I get to sit alot for that.

I took so much advil the past 2 days I have been having to pop tums for heartburn............yummy treat but cannot do that anymore.

Not sure if I will train, if so I will do so at home maybe? I don't know, not sure I can use my recumbent bike and may just need to hit the gym for the upright.
But after massage, which I am going to RIGHT now, I will maybe not train and rest, we will see.................time is so crucial now!!!

Okay just got back from my rmt, she said to take time off til Friday, I see her again......but I told her I can't but she said doing my training bent is only going to shorten the muscles more with tightness ( I knew that but us trainers go stupid when it comes to ourselves and we do stupid **** thinking we are oh so stronger and immortal than our clients.....) and she said I need to be elongated..........but I told her I cannot stop and need to keep fat burning and get hard for this contest so she said swim.........I have not swam since I was like 18........I hate being in pools and water with others, people are disgusting...........especially in water........but I guess I will have to try to go do some friggin' laps. I don't have suits you actually use to swim in! Well I have a couple bikinis I can try and hopefully they don't come off! She also said to get into the jet tub and give it some time in the hot jets...........so I guess that is what I will do today and tomorrow - the good thing is that because I have not swam in so long, it should be instant results. I am going to do my back, bi and obl training today though, at home, I will just do it slowly over the day so that I can do the standing work, standing - the pain does not get spasmy unti about 30 seconds into standing so I can do my 25 reps quickly with light bands, then bend over for relief......I know..........I sound pathetic.....but take a peek at the counter at the bottom of my sig, less than 7 wks left.
I may have to revamp week 6 training. No, I WILL have to, so I will post that here too.;)

Linda

Here is a revamp of my diet plan:
http://www.members.shaw.ca/Italianangel/DIETSeptember20.htm

I did it in word then made it a webpage so excuse the little format boobs but this was the best I could do quickly, and it makes sense so whatever.
I went super tight on this one because I may have to cut down training now due to my injury.................or I may have been a bit more lax than it is...........I figured this way I am safe.

Well I have been off since Wednesday and yesterday I just could not take it anymore and did my last workout of Week 5 with light weight at home with a band and did as much as I could standing then would sit to relieve the injury as it would increase in pain the longer I stood.User Posted Image

No Cardio at all since Tuesday and that worrries me - although my diet is pretty tight, I had cpr yesterday so I had a coffee, no fat milk though, and an apple with peanut butter as well as a few of Annies coco bunnies, nothing that would ruin my diet normally but with me off I need to refrain from cheats because my fat burning is less with no cardio so I have to stick to the diet I posetd above, that masochistic feeding schedule.User Posted Image

I am already thinking about next year because I don't know how well I will place under the conditions I am in now, at such a crucial point in my training. I know the gals entering against me are well trained and most by the president of the org which makes it already dicey along with other little politics but if I could at least come in super hard I have a small chance, regardless of routine.
I wanted to do my aerial but now, next time I can finally practice......if I try it i could repull and end up sore again...........but I really wanted to wow the routine with an intro flip. Decisions.................User Posted Image

I will do what I can and post some photo updates and you can all tell me if I am not quite hard enough at this point................trainers tend to really get mind screwed when judging themselves...........full confidence with clients but not with self especially fighting injury.

My toe is not an issue, although not fully healed it was workable after a week. Today is a week and a day after my glute reinjury and its still pinching, although I do get massage tomorrow and how painful that has been.......she said my hips were completely out and to get adjusted before I see her next but I could not get into the chiro until after our appt Monday - she thinks the adjustment may release all this and does not want to tear me down each session meanwhile it is not going to get better if it is alignment...........well I guess thats about it for update.
User Posted Image

I will take week 6 and do what I can and put my little bit of tolerance toward cardio if I can, and maybe just do 3-4 exercises per day with a good weight using compound work.
Week 7 is cross fit, so I chose a few of those exercises such as handstand pushups, turkish get ups, maybe some GI janes which are like a hundred burpees into pullup done with over under grip, and stuff like that, but will be back let me. I always enjoy being so strong and flexible.............but still as flexible as I am here I deal with tight attachments and muscle bellies yet I can still do all my splits, russian and front. WE, my rmt and I , figure I just need to keep a monthly with massge to just keep me on par and my muscle growing, I tend to cause a lot of scar tissue with some of my gymnastics and tricks........its all ballistic so it causes minor tears more so than weights and then being 'athlete' of course I have been taught and am used to working through pain etc. unless its debilitating so that work ethic does not help of course.
oh well.............guess that is my sad update.
Linda

So on the 23rd I did so some light jog intervals with some bodyweight work as stated above.
I took yesterday - Monday, September 24th 07 off and had  massage and chiro.
I am 75% better now.
Today I did my hour of cardio on stair master and arc, some rower adn bike but mostly upright as I am supposed to............
I did a couple sets of 10 on 2 machines per muscle group excluding arms with a moderate weight and here my latest shots.  It hurt to pose but I tried.

I am happy with the progress, can see some lines on the quads finally, and should see more in the hams, with overall shrink wrapping.........

Thanks guys and gals!!  Appreciating the love!!!
Well I posted week 6, what I actually did vs what was on my plan, and it was not as planned due to injury, Week 7 is cross fit, I did not start yet. I had to do a few refeeds because I am getting dizzy moving around too fast or getting up etc so some nuts, seeds n grains were taken in over the weekend. I may have to refeed every 3-4 days and I may go for a huge bowl of pasta with tomato sauce next one around because the last refeeds were not quite sufficient.
I will do cross fit 3 times this week, tomorrow will be a bicep day only for a video I am doing for a website about biceps.
I may do more if I do the gym workout video too for the same site, but otherwise the plan is as goes and my routine practice will start again.
I did a demo this weekend and it went okay, I took the flip out again, just don't want to take the chance to tweak it and be out again for a week. so now the routine is a breeze and I just keep reminding myself, the majority of the judging with this particular show is on me getting hard and lean........even if my routine sucked to rock bottom, the base score is mainly on body.
I just wanted to wow the audience and give it what i got but maybe if I place top 3 here I will qualify for provincials in June and I can add the flip then instead since I would do the same routine and suits for that show.
Sunday - Off
Monday - 1 hour walking on 15% incline at 4mph on tread.
Today - Tuesday did some mod weight hacks n front to side to front and lower.......db shoulder raises, sets of 15 or so, 3 sets.
did lying leg curls and shrugs then some upright cable rows followed by 50 mins mod cardio, I have kept the pace lower to mod compared to pre injury tweak..........one because I just don't have the fuel in my body and have been getting black spots and lightheaded really easy.............my spurts of energy have to be short if intense or low if long.
I seem to lose fat best on low intensity, long bouts, HIIT did nothing for fat loss for me.
Linda

Wed - off
Thursday 30 mins routine, 40 mins on stair master fat burn program level 6.
Friday - Off
Saturday - Today
1 hour on tread, 2, 3 mph walk 5 mins at 15% incline then run at mph for 5 mins at same incline, and repeat so that I got 5 runs, to 15 mins out then kept running at 10 mins out but no incline, then walk on no incline slowly lowering.
Then after stretches I did 2 cross fit exercise almost to failure which was 18-20 reps per side.
I did turkish get ups with variations using a 20 lb DB then I did single arm clean with 20 lb db and up from squat.
Diet is almost as layed, but had a few rice cakes with peanut butter, extra almonds last couple days.  In 2 weeks no more sweetener or products with, no more little drops of no fat milk in my tea and no more creatine.
I will then being my diuretic teas, just bag n water only but these herbal teas have chicory and fennel and stuff so they have a nice taste plain - thank goodness.
I still have to get my bf done by my elg again but I did get on a tanita on Monday and it said I was 15% and 116lbs, my scale says 16%bf with 119lbs but my friend said there was a formula where she also took my hydration percentage and used that to figure I was closer to 12 or 14% at most.
I amazes me how I look leaner than it reads but again I must be one of those with larger amounts of intramuscular fat, makes sense being meso I suppose.

I have the same problem.  Being a Meso 'n all....  Whenever I did Bf w/ bioimpedence (sp?), I always was high.  I didn't let it play on my mind, though.  We know how we look and that's a better judge anyway.  Cut here or a little soft there....  With calipers, I got down to 9% right before competition.  Boy that was insane!  Never been there before...  Bio was I think 14%?? not sure and can't remember...oh well. Sign of old age I think!!

Hey!  Back to you!  Keep up the great work and you will look smashing one month from now!  Whoo hoo!

BTW, I kept up w/ dairy products and fruit (dropped fruit 7 days out) up to competition.  Dairy (I don't think) didn't make me bloaty....maybe I'll look into it...if there's a "next time".  Never used Creatine....  Checking into what's quality and such right now.

I did not take any pics or my elg bf yet been under the weather.
I took Sunday off, went for a long brisk hour walk, Monday off, and I feel worse today.  I had toast yesterday and apple and too much nuts on top of reg. diet, but today I feel like I am fighting something.
I have not eaten at all today and its lunch but I am afraid to, or I may lose it all............but I have to try something so I am going to try a can of amys lentil veggie soup........or campbells tomato which is my sick food, when all else fails I have a can, sometimes toast or premium plus crackers and sprite or 7 up, but I am not sure how bad it is yet...........I know I won't keep fish down today, not as of how I feel now.....................I have to go train another client, am home between.............not sure i can train today.

The Zenith scale:
120lb / 24.2%bf and 54.1 I guess is the hydro?

My ELG machine:
Wt of lean body mass – 100.68lb
Percentage of lean body mass – 83.9%
Lean body mass to fat radio – 5.2 to 1
Total body water -35.1liters

Fat free mass is composed of muscles, body fluids, connective tissue and bone. Optimal lean to fat ratio for me is at least 3.2 to 1

Weight of body fat – 19.32lbs
Percentage of body fat 16.1%

Then it says I have to get to 111lbs to hit 9% bf............wtf?

Now I was ill yesterday and I had 4 cans of regular 7 up/gingerale.....had some salty food like veg chilli, veg curry, campbells tomato soup, potato and full fat sour cream and the night before I had too many almond roasted and 4 slice bread and some daily in coffee........................this is totally not my diet the past weeks, so I am sure I am bloated and I am pmsing but I did not want to not eat nor throw up so I listened to what my body wanted and went from no food until 1pm to eating every few hours and I kept it all down.........to me this was more important than stick to diet then puking it all up and not getting ANY nutrients.

I sure must retain a ton of intramuscular fat then cuz you cannot grab an inch on my waist.
These are my measurements all done relaxed, not done flexing except maybe the forearm:
Neck – 12 inch
Forearm - 9.5 inch
Upper arm – 11.5 inch
Shoulders – 38.5 inch
Chest – 35.5 inch (lost half inch on the twins)
Waist – 26 inch
Waist 2 – around belly button – 29 inch
Hips (largest area around butt) – 35 inch
Thigh – 21 inch
Calve – 14 inch

I did not take pics today I feel bloated, debating if I should bother............we will see. I have massage at 11am and am off work today, my glute is better and i can stand up and walk etc but now its stiff on the lower back, on the waist band, I did my routine last weekend or so something, maybe Thursday??? But my watered down version and my back seemed to get stiff after that progressively, and I have been off 3 days this past week!
I ran out of my vitamins over a week now, I know this is prob. one reason I am fighting a bug if I am, cuz pms can for some of us mimick the flu.............and that is almost always the case for me. so priority is to train today, I am going to do a bicep video filming and will run and will be taking some exercise photos for a book so that will be my workout today, I got 3 days off this past week up to today so........have to get back to going hard for the next 4 weeks to my show. Bad news is I will be in this same condition for contest day...........I sure hope my pms is muted by then, I will be on pms teas to help as diuretic anyway but now it can help with my actual pms too, its just that by my timing I will be at my worst bloat by contest day! fricking wonderful.................
getting a skinfold and tanita of my own but will get skinfold asap and have a gal at the gym,a trainer, do my skinfolds 6 site so I can see what that says.

Linda

Sorry to hear you're fighting a bug.  No fun!!  Sometimes it's best to listen to your body...  Sucks to be bloaty, too!  What crappy luck.  Take care and keep up all your hard work!  We'll be cheering you on!

Thanks!  I had a few good days after that day then today was a bit nauseated again.  I lost Sun, Mon and Tues last week though, had to not exercise..........sucks but I feel okay lean wise so far.  My legs are the most cut they have ever been and my ass is now a boys ass, no more italian booty..........saddlebags are nearly invisible and calves, tris are showing more cuts too.
Wed 10.10.07  I ended up feeling a bit better but asthma.......made cardio a real bitch today, jogged for 30 mins.
Thurs 10.11.07 - back on track with diet, again may have had a few nuts  which is not on menu, roasted almonds and hazelnuts otherwise pretty on track but still feeling underweather a bit with asthma.  Did 30 mins routine practice, 25 mins on the arc ez goes it, then did a taping of some failure sets for a video which was almost like an all body with heavy weights.
Friday 10.12.07 1x10 all body lite, no cardio, asthma is bad.
Saturday 10.13.07 asthma is bad today too, I am going to do 500 crunches and leave it at that for today.
Will do pics when I feel better, I was supposed to d a shoot today for my site gallery but I just am not feeling up to anything.  I had missed a shake or 2 yesterday and today I had a can of tomato soup instead of my breakfast fish, had a small chili with some crackers for my snack 2 instead of a shake and its high in protein but high in fat....and for dinner had some ridicchio instead of green beans for dinner with my tilapia but pretty much on diet and have been off nuts today, had a few yesterday but none the day before but I did have a green apple with peanut butter yesterday.............ooops.
I tihnk I am okay and can get away with these small things, I feel I look right even bloated and such as I am right now.  That will all be gone by Saturday, THEN I can do some  kick ass pics but I may take a few tomorrow anyway if I do a shoot tomorrow...........see how I feel.

I understand the asthma thing too....  Mine mainly flairs up when I have something else going on; sinus infection, chest cold.  Do you get your flu and pneumonia shots?  My doc insists b/c it seems everytime I get a cold, I get pneumonia.  I've also got a nebulizer to use just in case.  I REFUSE to use steroids!  I will do everything in my power to not ever take that crap again!

I can't wait to see pics!  I'm curious how I  would look if I ate as "clean" as you do....  I didn't cut out carbs in the am.  I had my oatmeal w/ protein powder, snack was another protein shake w/ maybe an apple.  Lunch was chicken/fish/or egg white omlette, veggies and a whole grain english muffin.  Afternoon snack was yogurt w/ fiber one cereal.  Supper again was either chicken/fish/ or egg white omlette, veggies up the yin yang w/ Jicima (sp?) being a staple to help out w/ fake fries.

You keep up that hard work and damn if you don't do an excellent job taking care of yourself!  I'll keep watching and learning!

Iv'e done that too - used bananas and potato and oatmeal right to show but started leaner and kept a leaner me all year than this time around but I mainly go with how I look each time, this time around I didn ot want to take any chances and have to come in hard so I went overkill, and I find with this I am flat, so when I carb up the week before I will fill out amazingly.  they dogged me pretty bad last year so if I am to beat the politics I have to come in with a body they cannot find fault with, so that I can place top 3 no arguement - I mean its still going to be political, and now my routine entertainment value and difficulty is mediocre compared to what I can do but it still maybe better than the others depending on who enters, how many and how their routines look..............

I am still debating cutting equal and creatine by the 28th.  I look so lean now that I may be able to get away with creatine and look fuller but then again I won't take the chance for any water under skin, rather get full muscles from yams instead.
I have not been this lean since 2001 and maybe getting to my leanest yet - most of the shows the past few  years were choseing gals with higher bodyfat and more on routine focus so I got away with it but these guys are my step toward IFBB so you can imagine, even so its bottom level amateur entry level, they still look for higher grade physique than most at that level.............its sad but they want you hard and lean almost like a natural bodybuilder, in a natural bb comp I would do well with how I look now.............or at least by my contest date.
Well I have had refeeds, an apple here and there, rice cake with pnut butter here and there, when i was ill last week I had a few slices of toast, tons of nuts, chili, potato, curry...........all very starchy, tomato soup to, very salty.....and one day 4 pops, full sugar...............and have had few 1/4 cups of dairy here and there, sometimes 2% other times whole in my tea or coffees...................so these are all areas I could have been stricter but did not have to and it worked out okay.
I am going to have a couple chocolate bars on Halloween -friggen rights!!!!
I also may do another day of a plate of spaghetti with tomato sauce and parmesan - this would be a last refeed and no later than this Saturday, then from the 21st to the 3rd I will have to be very diligent on my diet plan (link posted above) so that I can begin carb up by sat or wed, which may deviate a tad from the plan by adding a few extra carbs but we will see.
Last week always has the possibilities of changes of course.

Sat Oct. 13.07 - 500 crunches

Sun Oct. 14.07
- 100 heel prints, 50 diamond pushups and 50 regular, 2x20 quadriped, 2x20 flr chickens - still not well with asthma, diet has been better now, nausea is gone but still trouble with breath.

Mon Oct 15.07
-50 mins brisk high incline speed walk on tread

Tues Oct 16.07
- last few cross fit exercises (handstand presses, windshield wipers, squat to overhead barbell superset with overunder pullups or over over, gi janes - I failed fast and easy though...............pathetic but carbless so I have my reasons.
30 mins routine - 3x through and heavy stretches to make sure I don't get hurt or tweak injury (feel like such a baby, I am normally so flexible that I don't have to stretch), 10 on spinner, 10 lite on rower.

Hey Lady, are you feeling better?  I always get laid up for more than a week or two so I'm feelin' for ya!  I take a steroid preventative inhaler (not as often as I should...'groan) and that helps....  Not much further to go and you are on a roll.  You've got everything under control that you can and roll w/ the rest, Ok!?  Can't wait to see your pics!

Wednesday 10.17.07
an hour at home on recumbent bike very mild pedaling - I decided since I was watching TUF I would bike too since the show is so motivating and I can't wait to see matt sera kick matt hugh's ass!!!

Thursday 10.18.07
I did not really do cardio but did walk the dogs for an hour, the past few months have not been with the frequent hour daily walks we used to do since we have been going to parks and playing ball with them instead.  Did my 4 exercises from a choice of a few I wanted to fit in this week for week 8 with sprint intervals between so I did, 2x12 mod weight but had to do a few spinner intervals off seat, since all tread were busy but last 2 intervals were sprints at 8+mph.

Friday 10.19.07

4 more exercises from a list I had put together for this weeks plan and sprints between, no other cardio.

Had a refeed yesterday and the few days prior had some nuts here and there as well as rice cakes with pb, these are not on my diet right now but I can afford it and needed it.
I look very full today and wanted to take pics but was too busy.  Will try to get some comparisons at least tonight.  The refeeds so far have done my body good!!
I picked up a herb called coleus forskholii and it is to help with cell communication which seems to work well with asthmatics but it has all these other uses like hypertension, heart, acne, and get this, it is supposed to help increase metabolism - its a fat burner but NO side effects which you do get from most fat burners........incredible and ironic..........very useful for me pre contest I suppose.
I have not yet started diuretics, don't need to star til 1-2 wks out at this point as I am bang on with my body so far by mirror anyway.  Still want to do skinfolds and see what they say but at this point I don't care if it says I am 12 or 16............I look 9 percent or less under the skin so that is what counts!!
I also picked up some tea made of several herbs specifically for the lungs, went to Finlandia, they have a master herbalist there and so far I am amazed because I did not start the tea yet and only did the coleus for 2 days and my breathing today is symptom free.......I mean all the usual times I hack like early morning or evening......nothing......now I know I am at the end of pms and cycle but the condition seemed to go away overnight, I did not even feel the need for meds and have not taken my puffer now for 24 hours out of need............only out of schedule and get this................no hacking or coughing or nothing during my sprints........and not to get gross but the phlegm build up has been almost non existent................my problem, bronchitis which is a over production of phlegm exasperated by allergy and asthma condition..............well phlegm free for the most part.
Could it be that it is already helping???  It is supposed to work well with the drugs and help you use less or stop altogether although with the scarring and damage to my lungs from 36 yrs of severity and such I will take anything, any difference in the positive.  I also always did respond well to supplements or drugs but I would have thought it may take months.  the lung tea was also affordable and I use a thermos per day sipping all day.
I went shopping today at the superstore to buy my usual tilapia lot, I get like 3 bulk packs, about 40 bucks per week and I eat it all...........anyway while there I became the bulk isle thief...........this week and last I took a couple kisses and sour keys.  mmmmm they were good and I could only eat a few, got to me, too strong for my pallet after all this simple bland food.

Well that is about it so far.

Well I ate a full pack of brown rice cakes with pb over the past 2 days, also, had a bit of dairy in my tea n coffee, also had too many roasted hazelnuts..............and then I had deviated from my menu and for dinner I had 2 bc rolls, a japanese salad with a sesame miso type dressing and a miso soup.
Now the kicker............I have a lava cake sitting in the kitchen with my name on it.Smile
Do I eat it.........I took yesterday and today off, my ankle especially on my right foot, achilles area and all around was slightly sore, tight so that rotation causes immediate stretch almost to pain so I figured stay off it and do nothing.............but the mistake was all the fats I took in and the deviation from diet.
Well back on strict tomorrow right through to Nov.3rd.  This is a crucial part in cycle of diet, no carbs for 10 days straight til carb up time which will be a day from the sat to the wed prior and from what I can tell I can start slowly on Sat.  I am still pretty tight, lean and hard and will get some pics up soon, I really need to shoot some more content for my site so I will get comparisons at that time.
