My Bulking Log!!!!! - Saturday, December 02, 2006 5:37 AM
heres the second installment of my progress!  ive changed up my workout for strength now and im going to be eating 200-300 calories over maintenance the whole time, maybe ill bump it up after awhile.  i wanna try to keep the fat off, cuz i feel that i gained way to much on my last bulk, and i learn from my mistakes.  also this is the first time that im going to be using cee for a full cycle so i cant wait to see my results!  ill be tracking my weight lifted the whole time, so this will be more interesting than my cutting log, lol.  heres my plan:

Day 1-
Chest/Shoulders/Legs

Day 2-Rest

Day 3-

Back/Bis/Abs

Day 4- Rest

Rinse, Lather, Repeat


My supps are taken like this:

Wake-up:

VS Ultimate Man Multi
Fish Oil
Cre-Ethyl Thunder(in the morn only on non workout days)
Revitalize X
Vitamin C(500mg)
Green Tea(315mg)
Vitamin E(400iu)

Wake-up(on cardio days) Pre-Cardio:
2 scoops ON 100% Whey

Post-Cardio:
1/2 cup Grape Juice

After School:
VS Ultimate Man Multi
Fish Oil

Pre-Workout:
Cre-Ethyl Thunder
Revitalize X


Post Workout:
1 cup Grape Juice
2 scoops ON 100% Whey Gold

Before Bed:
Cottage Cheese w/ 1/2 scoop ON 100% Whey

 
 
Here's My Starting Measurements:

Neck-13.5

Chest-38.5

Left Arm-13.625

Right Arm-13.25

Forearms(unflexed)-10.625

Wrist-6.75

Stomach(at navel)-30.375

Waist-31.375

Hips-36.875

Calves-14

5'9.5" 153lbs

My goals are to gain A LOT of strength and to not gain to much around the midsection.  I would really like to lose some fat while im bulking so this is gonna be a slow, careful bulk.

i dont like my stomach and chest, and my legs are embarrassingly small, so i choose not to show them[&o]

my workout schedule/routine is up in the first post.
 
im changing my diet so that im getting A LOT of protein, as in about 250-300g a day.  im taking in about 300-350 carbs a day, and the remainder of my calories are from fat(mainly from chicken, eggs, and olive oil).  it all adds up to about 3250 calories a day. i may even eat only 3000 calories on non-workout days, but i havent decided yet.  im trying to keep as much fat off as possible while gaining massive strength.
 
this bulk is probly gonna last til the beginning of march or april, cuz i want enough time to cut for prom which is in early june

Yeah yeah yeah, we've heard that one before.  Self-perception does not always (usually!) equal reality.  But this ain't the Critique My Physique forum, so carry on!  Looking forward to the answers to my other questions!

Is 3250 about 500 over your basal requirement?

I would keep the calories consistent . . . your body needs the fuel to repair and build on non-workout days.  You probably don't need so much protein, but no harm.  How many meals a day?

Senior prom or Junior prom?!?

i do my workouts 3x5 for now, im working mainly on strength.  heres my workout from yesterday:

T-Bar Rows- 80, 90, 95

Seated Rows- 140, 150, 150

Lat Pulldown- 150, 150, 157.5

Barbell Curls- 75, 75, 75


i was also supposed to do ab work, but i did it just 2 days ago, so i skipped it this time

i was pressed for time at the gym today so i cut the workout about 5 minutes short, so deadlifts got scratched off and like usual everything is for 3x5:
 
DB Bench Press- 100, 110, 110(i failed on the 4th rep on the last set)
 
Incline Bench Press- 115, 125, 125
 
Cable Flies- 40, 40, 40(per hand)
 
Lateral Raises- 15, 17.5, 17.5(per hand)
 
Leg Press- 300, 305, 320
 
Shrugs- 300, 300, 300

Nice Journal + Good Luck with your goals! Hows that workout split? I like the frequancy of training but have you thought about giving your legs there own day to allow more focus on them to bring them up?

the split is working pretty good and i think i can handle the small amount of time i have for recovery inbetween workouts.  today im gonna be doing back/bi/ab day, so ill find out if theres any improvements there yet.
 
i dont do enough leg work for it to earn its own day IMO.  i do leg work more because i have to not because i enjoy it or want to.  although i do like deadlifts if im fully awake, lol
