ORIGINAL: SupraTurbo True, on some of them my form is a tad sloppy, but it has improved a good bit since then. They were just to give a little idea. Dont trip with all that weight its not a big deal. Some say it hurts your back I say they are full of **** power lifters do it all the time. Anyways that is really impressive... Its to bad you didnt make a video of it though.. Alot of people post pictures to where they only go half way down then arch the hell out of their back, go up and call it one rep. Arching the back isnt a big deal if your coming from touching your chest, otherwise its not a very worthy push. Good Job though! Bench must be one of your strong points.

Right, I don't think I will have any trouble with my back or anything either. Like you said, thats what the powerlifters always do. But yeah, I am going to have to get some good videos sometime, because pictures don't always show it the best. Bench has always been my strong point, I have been doing it constantly for about 3 years. Thanks a lot. Toby

When I talk about the bench press, I always mean free weights. I wouldn't do it any other way.

Haha... I should have known that was coming. Believe me, you aren't the only one. I don't have any pictures with me of 400lbs, but I do have a picture of me doing 390lbs. As of now, I don't have any videos, but I hope to get some here soon. Anways, here are some pictures of me doing 390lbs, I have been working out now for about 3 years: http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/3034/hpim0431cn9.jpg http://img164.imageshack.us/img164/4362/hpim0433ku3.jpg Here is a picture of me doing 360lbs easily: http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/338/hpim0091cq3.jpg quote:

You know I think RideTheLightning is right. I am trained fine artist, bachelors in drawing and printmaking, I focused quite a bit on the figure in college (as a base for abstraction), and know my share of anatomy (ok I don't remember all the names, but I know how everything fits together). My major concentration was how form moved through 2 dimensional space, and how to screw with it to make impossible spacial situations. The way the arm fits into the torso is not correct. It looks like the shoulder is dislocated. The stress in the arms is not congruent to the stress exhibited in the rest of the body. There is mismatching tension all over those pictures. The arms look as though they can lift that poundage easily, but the torso seems to be under extreme, or actually exaggerated/faked stress. And those pants, those pants they're just not right at all. Even if I am opperating under the assumption that they are unbuttoned, there is one image on top of another, or just cut and detailed badley. thanks to being stuck at work on a fri night supervising a project that requires no supervision, unless I wasn't here (oh I hate my job), I have just spent WAY To much time studing those pictures. I am gonna raise the flag on toby and since I posted to this thread... I don't max out since I only use DUMBELLS and don't have a spotter, worried about me arms ripping of. But I am 147 lbs, 5'5, FEMALE 3x8 30lb'ers (please remeber DB are harder, so don't laugh too much, 'kay) so 60 lbs total and I nearly fail on the last rep.

Okay, you guys are dumb as crap. Yeah, those pictures of me are totally fake and I am not 15. I thought it would be funny to modify those pictures and post them everywhere and waste my life, yeah sure. Everyone in my town could set you straight, and I have broke school weightlifting records in my area. Thehardway and RideTheLightning, you guys are going to find out here real soon that I am not bs. I am going to post up some videos of me doing some real heavy weight and prove you guys wrong. Hopefully I will get some up here shortly, but it might be a couple weeks since I just f'd up my sternum doing weighted dips. I find it funny that whenever someone young is benching a lot of weight, everyone calls it bs just because they are jealous and will never be able to do that much in their life. Thehardway, I think that you need to get a new job, because apparently, you suck at what you do, because you can't tell real pictures from fake pictures. Also, RideTheLightning, I think I am going to get a video up of me doing your max (210lbs) about 30-40 times so you feel like ****. That may be harsh, but I just get pissed off at these people who always try to act like it is impossible and I am bs. You guys will find out real quick.

i not calling you a lier, but you don't look any bigger than me in those pics. i don't exactly have that high of a max on bench for my size but still, 170 benching 400 just doesn't sound real.

Yeah, I know. I don't look extremely big in the pics. I know that it sounds ridiculous at 173-175lbs bodyweight, thats fine. But remember, I have been doing the bench press constantly for about 3 years. A lot of time and practice got me to where I am. It's not always how big you are, a lot of it has to do with the technique. Anyways, I am bigger and bulkier than what it seems in the pics.

Please post footage, maybe it would make you feel better. What I'm saying is you are practically levitating off the bench in one of your pics. And the outline of your body and the lighting in the pic where you have a sweater is a dead giveaway. No, 173 lbs doing 405 lbs is nearly impossible. You'd almost be national news. And you'd be shredded as hell, yet your pics show that you look like cottage cheese. Hey, prove me wrong. I'd be happy to say I was. But Im not. And by the way, I'm proud of my 210lbs. Is the point of this thread to shame those who can't do as much as others? And 210lbs is good for a 160lb slim guy like me. Good, not great. Would be more if I wasnt missing a muscle in my right pectorial. And Im not a bodybuilder, just a cyclist who went online for exercise advise and found this article.

Personally anyone maxxing on there own bodyweight is impressive, people who train on there BW (as in 10-12 reps) are doing strength exercises done by the UK army (and i know this for a fact as i was told by a member lol) and anyone who trains above there BW is more than impressive. Ive seen only a handful of people who bench above there BW for training, and most of them are roiders and have been training for years, like 10+ years. I think equipment also makes a difference, my gym has had new equipment put in, and complaints have already been made by members because one nearly killed themself doing a weight ive seen them do easily before, and had to take off 90lbs before they could barely lift it once. The benches are loads thinner (hard to stay on them) and the head rest bit is seperate from the body rest, so theres no neck support. I said this stuff looks **** and dangerous to the owner but they werent happy...Oh well, i just shove a towel in the gap so it does support my neck, not that much 80lbs training BP weight will do much damage to my neck anyway. 170lbs benching 400lbs i personally believe to be BS. I have noticed general trends to higher benchers. 1.Theyre short 2.They raise there asses off the bench a lot 3.There chests are so ****ing broad that they only have to lower the bar down 4-5 inches to touch there chest (also helps if your arms are short, which comes with short height) 4.they roid. Ive never seen a video of a tall guy benching any massive amounts like these short roiders do. Pictures for bench are useless, you need videos, anyone can edit pictures

Ok, you can believe what you want. That is fine with me. I don't really care if you think the pictures are fake or not. And I don't know where you got 405 from, because I clearly said 400. Anyways, I will have to get a video up here after I heal, because I can't do much of anything right now. It probably won't be of anything that close to 400, since I don't really want to put any additional stress on my sternum than necessary. It will probably be of 300-350 or so. You will definetely get the point. Anyways, I am glad that you are proud of your 210lbs. Good for you. And no, the point of this thread wasn't to shame on those who did less than me or anyone, but was the point of this thread to act like a ****got and say the maxes of others is bs? This thread definetely went off track though, so keep it on track and I will get my video up as soon as I can. quote:
