If people in here are indeed telling the truth, I am VERY impressed. A 17 year old weighing 145 maxing at 245?! DAYAM! good job guy I'm 24, weigh 180, and max flat at 285. That's 2 plates and a quarter on each side right?

ORIGINAL: twistedlink Bar 45lbs two plates each side = 180lbs quarter plates would be 11.3lbs, 11lbs for easy maths x 2 = 22lbs added up thats 247lbs roughly 250lbs I'm not sure about the UK but here in the US a quarter plate is 25lbs and he's pressing 275, which is a pretty even number - meaning many guys do it during their progression. It's natural to go 225, put on 10s 255, strip 10s add quaters 275 and so forth.

This thread reminds me of the old Dana Carvey skit on SNL "how much ya bench" lol. I took a little over a year off while I was partying doing other bad things to my body and just realized enough is enough and started hitting the gym hard again in August. Right now I weigh about 240 and my max is 340. It was down to 260 when I started back up but I guess muscle memory helped me out there. Oh I'm 21 now too. I hope people can use threads like this for encouragement and to help see where they measure up against others in their same age and size brackets instead of just bragging, because that makes it just useless. Also I wish someday everyone would get over the fascination with the bench press and worry about other key exercises too. I'd rather be able to deadlift 600 lbs than bench half that any day.

when u bench with a shirt u are literally wearing a shirt thats almost 200x tougher then underarmour. And when u have this shirt on it is nearly imposssible to put ur arms down unless u have weight to do it. And raw is just raw....nothing used but either wrist wraps or belt.

what id like to know is does everyone checking there max bench use a true bench...meaning are you using correct form. if i bench with correct form using mainly my chest i can only max out at 210 but if i just do the typical bench that most of the people do that dont use correct form then i can top out at 270 which is a big difference. so im betting alot of people who post a max are not using correct form meaning there just pushing with all the muscles they can to get the weight up. 90% of the people i know and i see at the gym dont use correct form and push with there legs and other muscles so i figured alot here are probably doing the same so thats why the ones who do use correct form are alot lower on there max. my point here is it dont matter what you can max if your not doing the excersise with correct form then it really isnt doing anything for you in the long run and isnt realy your max since its pretty much like cheating.now im not saying everyone does this but im just pointing out a big difference when it comes to a TRUE max bench.
