I do a 1 on 1 off routine. My body tells me when it's time to take an extra day or two off. Never hesitate to rest.

ok there is no need to do 15 reps . you Dont want to fatigue the muscle thats the worst it aint cardio your doing your lifting weights. and the website i get my info for is an actual muscle scientist!  i would think a muscle scientist would know more than a personal trainer that goes to school not very long at all.

i agree with johnny rotten never hesitate to take rest. i never need rest becuase i dont lift the same muscle for a week but if i did need rest i would take it.

by looking at some of your workouts scottie looks like your doing heavy weight then why dont you just do 15 reps for all your muscles with lighter wieght if it works?

hey if muscle heaLs in 24 hours start working every muscle 24 hours if you really believe that?
hey dont even rest at all! practice what you preach.

thats why i would never waste my money on a personal trainer.

well at least im happy that i got the right info. you do what you like.

well i will say this ya maybee after 48 hours some of the muscle has rebuilt but not all of it wouldnt you rather workout when all of it is rebuilt. so your not entirely wrong.

thats probably why they say 48 hours.

15 reps may not be bad depending on what his goals are, mabe he doesnt want to get ripped, mabe he is going for stamina or strength in those cases doing lighter weight more times help.
I also find that once in a great while I will switch up the 12-10-8 rep range for 15's on all 3 sets with a lower weight, it keeps your muscle guessing and when you go back to hammering the weight on you will respond alot better.

ya coop i guess if your not going for size then 15 reps wouldnt be bad. stamina is good to have too. ya if you did do 15 reps i guess its ok to do once in a great while to give your body a change. but i dont agree with muscles recovering in 24 to 48 hours.

hey scottie

look at this link then i wont have to say anything else.

http://www.discussbodybuilding.com/Overtraining_90_Make_This_Mistake_90_Of_The_Time/m_58912/tm.htm

Hairy,
obviously you have no idea what i was saying. First off, did i say anywhere in my work out taht i do anything with my weights other than excersises that are free wieght, that has 15 reps? no, and i was talking about hypertrophy as an example that working a muscle more than once releases more hormones. btw, nothing i said was from a trainer, its a scientific fact, so on the site you use, why dunt you take a look at hyper trophy. you say do not work a muscle more than once a week, well if you understood what hypertrophy is, then you would know that when you work your muscle more than once, you do more damage to the fibres, hence they rebuild more than before, hence working the muscles more tha once a week is better for growth AND strength. how bout this for an example, thursday i worked out, and then i work out again fridays, ie yesterday, well yesterday i could do more reps than when i did it thursday and that would be the direct day afterwards, without rest. now so what your saying, tht shouldnt be possible, considering it should take a week to heal my muscles, but obviously it didnt, and it took my muscles less than 24 hours to do it,  which by what you say, should have taken ATLEAST a week IF i only worked them ONCE a week. and considering i work out my arms chest shoulders and back in my workouts alot, and do it 4 times a week. im pretty sure that i should not have been stronger in teh same week if what you say is true.

now, considering i just PERSONALLY, proved that it doesnt take a week to recover muscle, than id say that ill just keep doin what im doing, and that that site you use is useless. and LIKE i said before, hey ya maybe its right for you, but obviously, it doesnt for me, and what i have been doing works better, FOR ME, that is. which is what i tried saying before you began to argue but hey, some people belive in one thing. im not wasting any more time on argueing with you since ive proven my point first handed, and since your so stuck on your routine being better. btw, Built, i apologize for all of this, i realize you were just looking for some help, but i hope anything said(from either of us) does help you with what to do, like i said, some things work for different people, so try different things, switch your routines up, keep your body guessing, and keep at it, youll see the results you want, just follow what you think is right for you.

hey scottie did you read the link i gave? so your saying marc david himself is wrong.? the boss of this forum. lots of people use the max-ot workout plan and i have heard a few use it from this site .

oh and you think you got stronger from the workout .  tell me when you go up 10 to 20 pounds on your excersices lots of weeks. doing more reps could just mean you tried harder.

i just dont want to see you giving the wrong infomation on here to people. thats counterproductive.

the link i gave was posted by the head of this forum himself and your saying he is wrong too lol!

another thing is your 16 your body grows easier than some so if you did it the right way you would have enourmous gains.

the other people will read my links and disregard your info at least i hope.
