New info on Creatine - when - Tuesday, August 08, 2006 4:05 PM
First it is important to know that over 300 papers demonstrate a whole slew of benefits in creatine research.

The form of creatine used in research is bascially Creatine Monohydrate.

Pure Creatine Monohydrate would be preferable to ANY other form as it is effective and known to be safe.

CEE or Creatine Ethyl Ester  has NO research to show its safety adn even some research that brings it's safety into question.  The Ethyl Ester is an alcohol!  There is prelminary evidence that CEE may become a toxin...

The general rule is if it may be unsafe..don't use it.  Especially when there is something that WORKS and is proven SAFE.  Even when looking at kidney, liver and other functions.

Creatine may soon be considered an essential nutrient instead of a supplement!

Endurance athletes use carbs for energy.
Strength athletes use creatine (the phosphate energy system)
Take creatine away and people lose function, put it back and function improves...looks essential.

Creatine is a nutrient.

New published research points out that taking Pure Creatine Mono 1-hour prior to resistance training may have additional benefits!  It takes an hour to peak in the blood and the force of blood flowing to the muscles delivers it where it is most desired.

Anytime a vitamin or supplement is esterfied it's always better for better delivery.

Here is an example....

You gonna go with something good?

Sorry J..but there is NO proof..only some very expensive advertising.

Esterified Vitamin-C is created by having the Vit-C react with a mineral such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, or sodium...resulting in a non-acidic form.

Ethyl Esterified Creatine is using Ethyl Alcohol...research to test it's safety has brought up some troubling questions about its safety.  Additionally these forms tend to deliver much lower doseages of Creatine than are found effective...

this is the second time ive heard about CEEs lack of research and possible toxicity.  i hate to dissapoint, but i think im going to cut my xceed and the review that goes with it.  im gonna go back to plain old creatine mono, tried and true

come to think of it, since i started using cee two days ago, ive had cramps even though i already drank the entire pacific ocean worth of water.  also ive had strange stomach pains.

funny cuz those are supposedely the side effects of creatine mono, lol.  i actually dont get any sides with creatine mono other than a lil bloating, doesnt matter to me though, im a fairly small guy, so a little extra size doesnt bother me

Xceed appears to be a nicely formulated supplement.

The CEE simply delivers the creatine in a different form, that is then seperated to liberate the Creatine..  I am uncertain about the amount of Creatine actually delivered from 3G of CEE HCl...and only one as yet unpublished peice of research has reached me about it.

It tested CEE delivering 5 grams of Creatine vs. 5 Grams of Monohydrate...the results (lean body mass, body fat, bone mass) for both were the same however there was some puzzling blood work in the CEE subjects, leading them to test for toxin metabolites...which has not yet been completed.

Once CEE is de-esterfied, ~16% by MW is Ethyl Alcohol (saponification). I could be wrong on this.

Also, I believe John Berardi wrote and article on how CEE could be toxic in the body to organs. I'll try to dig it up later.

Once again, I'm only a rep so I'm sure R&D knows what they are doing.

I'd like to see the study dan...

I wonder what the DS reps have to say about the topic? I'm sure they can bring some thing to the table here considering they're manufacturing the stuff.

what about tri/di-creatine malates which have been bonded to malic acid. wouldnt this be better than esterified creatines due to the fact that malic acid plays a huge role in the krebs cycle?

Everything's biased in the supplement industry. They still have a right to defend their point of view on the subject.
