Veg, become one with the pain and love it... Hate, but love the pain so that you look for it where ever you go... You control your body, not the other way around. Smile

Poopie!  Forgot to enter this again.

Interesting to note that although I had all the usual soreness and yuckies of coming back to the gym after a few weeks off, I was nevertheless able to start right back up at the same poundages that I was hitting before Smile  Perhaps time off is not such a bad thing after all...

Yeah a week or twos rest can be good, as soon as ive finished week 12 im gonna take a week off, and start up again, i see your squatting has lowered a bit though, werent you doing 230lbs?

Good work though, and MY GOD MAN for the love of vegetables and all the fruits on this planet, start bloody DEADLIFTING! lol.

My backs gained a lot of muscle since i started deadlifting-brilliant exercise.

Can deadlifting be done via smith machine?

Keep up the good work, btw, im 3lbs off the 10lbs gain mark, hurry up buddy lol.

Yeah, yeah, I know Smile Yes, you can do deads on a Smith, but that's one move I prefer to use the raw barbell for. There's no risk of dropping it on my neck Smile And, now that I have some lifting straps, there's no excuse for letting my grip set the agenda.

I lowered the squats only because that month of doofing around sent my knees and my hips back to the stone ages. I just hit 'em again today, and it's gonna take at least four leg workouts to get back up to speed. I'm sure deads will help with that, but I have to respect the mind-boggling soreness last Monday's leg workout induced.

Beefcake indeed! HA HA HA! Read on for today's shinanigans Smile

Split Designation: Legs

Exercise             Sets (Weight/Reps*)
Squats               210/10    210/10    210/10.5  260/10.5
Hamstring Curl        80/10     80/10     80/10     85/10
Seated Calf Raise    115/35    115/35    115/35

Leg Extension        100/15    100/15    100/15    100/15
*Decimal values represent partial reps (ex 8.4 = eight full reps + four partial reps)

Notes:

Considering how sore last Monday's leg workout left me, I was fully anticipating a hellish, excruciating ordeal today.  Instead, I was treated to 40 minutes of truly SICK quad pump action and some very satisfying calf work.

This is the first time I have ever done seated calf raises -mostly because I don't have the equipment to pile the plates on with.  So for this round, I sat on the bench and balanced an EZ-Bar across my knees with a couple of 45's on it.  Not a lot of weight by any standard, but with the balls of my feel up on a couple of plates, I was able to get some decent range of motion out of it.  35 reps left me burning nicely.

This was an excellent day to have mirrors in my gym.  I couldn't stop busting quad poses Smile  Did I already mention how SICK the pump was?  I have become a diehard fan of leg development.  No ifs, ands or butts about it.  I'm gonna stop dwelling on my arms and chest, and make quads, hammies and calfs my dead-center focus.  And you just gotta know, all the benefits of that focus will spill over into every other lagging muscle group, 'cause I'm not stopping until I have the TREE TRUNKS, BEEEEEEATCH!

BEEEEEEEFCAAAAKE!!!!

Well, I was refering to tree trunks for legs; but now that you mention it, pylons sound like a pretty nice arrangement Smile

I see Nav's been borrowing pages from Moralski's playbook Smile

I also see that Nav had some corn before he shot this.

I don't know who's in more trouble. . . Nav for being so disgusting (and not using his litter box), or you for opening the kitty door.  Blech.  Let's get some more posts on here, quick, so we can go to another page!Smile
