Excellent job my friend!  However, I won't let you overtake me, I am just slightly ahead of you in Squats and deadlifts... My goal will be to keep atleast 10 lbs ahead of you at all time :)

well my plan is to raise my squats and deads by 10-20lbs each week, though, to be utterly honest, I do realise these extreme strength gains are mainly from the fact that im putting my body through an onslaught it hasnt had in a long time, im sure my 3rd week will be less impressive for weight additions, though i am hoping to add 5lbs minimum each week to my 3 major exercises-bench, squat and deadlift, the bench is gonna **** me over, i just know it.

I forgot to mention, the last 2 sets on deadlifts today i upped it to 170lbs.

Buddy, My bench is the hardest to raise.  The squats and deadlifts will continue to raise atleast 10lbs for us for a while, hopefully atleast until we hit 3 plates ;)

3 plates each side? 3 45 plates each side? Smile

with a 55lbs bar at my gym and them plates, thats 325lbs!!! I wasn't planning on squatting that much in a long time lol.

Though to be fair, If i do add 10lbs each time i do squats each week, il be at 325lbs in 18 weeks, which is before the end of the year even, but i'll stay safe with my 5lbs minimum for now and just whack on the weight when my body feels comfortable with it lol.
we have 25 weeks exactly until the end of the year, in which time if i do add 10lbs each time my max squat will be around 420lbs, which i find doubtful, very doubtful lol.

Deadlift veg! Tis the only way, I dont like to admit it but from the feels of it all 4lbs ive gained since starting is all in my lower back, i have huge ridges along my spine lol, though some in my legs too.
I cant prove all my weights gone into that area, but i have noticed a trend whereby my weight increases a lot after wednesday, maybe its because im doing the 2 big lifts.
Bench im lowering next week, i tried adding too much too soon, of all people i should've known that adding 10lbs to the weight for each 2 set amounts was silly, Il be doing 100lbs 3x8 (as i nearly did them this week) and 105lbs for 5x5, and then next week 105lbs for 3x8 then 110lbs for 5x5 and continue like that, unless my chest decided to suddenly grow like mad lol.

Weight:149lbs:WTF?! either my scales are screwed, i ive lost fat, no way can i lose 2lbs of lean mass in one night, this has to be fat, i weight myself in the mornings straight after i wake up, its either screwed scales or ive lost fat

EDIT:I think i've figured out my weightloss, I was sweating a TONNE yesterday because of the humidity, and while i refreshed my water reserves throughout the day, i woke up sweating and with a dry mouth, so i think some of it is water weight, and maybe a bit fat, as my workouts in that humidity wouldve burnt off a ****load of calories lol.

I think I will start weighing myself in the morning too, I just need to put my scale next to my bed, with paper and a pen!

And measure BF every week you think?  I know I have gained alot of BF in the past couple months.  Buy yourself an AC!

I go to sleep and every morning I don't want to get out of bed, its so nice and cold.

Sorry i havent updated sooner, havent been able to access a PC for the past 2 days, but i did write everything down i needed

Fridays routine is to say the least, boring.

Not exactly a major morale booster to my efforts as i didnt work this part of my body last week, and apart from triceps all these parts are weak, well, thats what i first thought.
When i quit BBing about 4-5 months back i had 15" arms, now theyre 13", though they were 12 1/2" 2 weeks ago (yay newb gains lol) yet my bicep strength is pretty much the same as ever, i soon learnt my old tricep weights were WAY too heavy for me, so thats where i lost them inches in my arms.

Anyway onto the routine

Week 2, Day 5

Friday 7th july 2006

Workout:Shoulders, abs and tris. (Edition, bicep booster)
1st exercise
dumbell crunches

Overall i thought this workout was my weeks waste of calories, these exercises just dont get me pumping like my deads squats bench or preachers do.

My biceps are resilient longliving buggers to say the least, so i gave them a bit of a boost, and wanted to try grantoizes lying down bicep curls!
MAN THEYRE TOUGH!
Basically i just repeated my usual mondays routine for the arms, but added things such as the lying down curls and hammer curls.
I love that stiff feeling, my biceps today (saturday) dont feel anything, dont feel worked through stiffness, soreness, tiredness, anything, its weird, but ive given it 4 days rest so im sure i havent done much damage.

For anyone out there who is reading this and thinking my routines gonna get repetative, fear not! I shall be changing it around every month to shock my body, and adding new exercises and maybe taking a few out here and there, or switching them about each week.
Also, on this journal, i might do a monthly pic thing, depends if i can be bothered with that, either way, il post pics when i reach 180lbs.

Saturday 8th July 2006
Weight:I would love to say i am at 152lbs given ive only got 1 day left and that was my goal, but right now im at just about 151.5lbs, though keeping at that weight.
BF%=7-8%
Nutrition:Standard (Calorie intake lowered to 4600 today, and continuing with it, I may buy weightgainer, the reason for this downsize is because, while it could do it, eating 5000 odd calories with few supplements making that, my stomachs been a **** to me, with wind, and needing a **** every damn hour, and its pissing me off.

Standard from now on =4600
My carbs have been lowered by about 50-100 ish grams, and protein about 20grams, but i may just add another protein shake, fat decreased by not much, anyway thats my new standard from now on. 

Rest day (apart from my very physical job that burns about 2000 calories, I pretty much do an intense cardio every weekend for 5-6 hours solid)

Triceps sore, which has made me happier about my attitude towards yesterdays workout, but my shoulders are fine in the way of soreness, I know it doesnt mean it wasnt worked, i felt it being worked yesterday, but i do like to be sore a bit just so i know somethings frigging happening lol

lol, but im really skinny and horrible right now, and by the looks of things, by the end of my 4th week i'll only be about 158lbs(which is 11lbs for the month), which for nearly 6'1" will still be skinny...Hmm, maybe i need to get to more than 180lbs, maybe 200lbs lol.

Eh...I've gained 4lbs so its not really a true before and after pic, I might just search around for my old critique pics of me and use them, or i might take some pics tommorow when my g/f round so i dont have to try and bend myself into odd shapes in the mirror trying to get the right parts in lol.
Well i am hoping to gain 2lbs each week, so I should be at around 155-158lbs by the end of my 4th week if you take into account freak gains that can sometimes happen, i will be very happy with that weightgain actually, even if it isnt a lot for some people, for me, being a measly 147lbs to 158lbs would make me smile a LOT lol.

EDIT:I cannot use the old pic as i look bigger than i do right now, probably because that old pic i was 5'11" at 155lbs, and im now nearly 6'1" at 152lbs barely LOL, that would explain it, Il take pics tommorow ready for a kind of before and after pic for the end of my 4th week.

My chest hates me, my bench has weakened. I ****ing hate my chest, the stupid thing is that my flies and general other chest exercises have increased fine, its just that ****ing barbell ****ing bench thats pissing me around. Anyway

Week 3, Day 1
 
Monday 10th July 2006
Weight:152lbs
BF%=8.2%
Calories today:3800 (thanks to college etc my calories went down today, RIGHT before my gym workout too so i had 0 ****ing carbs in me and was already tired from trying to figure out some ****ing thing. Not only that but some twat decided to **** around with sulphur trioxide which is dangerous and nearly got my face burnt off in the process.
Workout:Chest and biceps.
1st exercise:
Normal bench
3 sets 8 reps @ 100lbs Completed
5 sets 5 reps @ 105lbs Failed 3rd set 4th rep

Right, basically, my bench is going about as far as a cow ****s, so ive decided to swear at the mirrors and get angry grrr man. Anyway, After this i tried thinking of a logical reason as to why i have an above average sized chest with quite good muscle definition and can bench 105lbs with struggling, and some short tubby monster who eats sugar puffs all day can bench 350lbs for 50 reps. It then hit me, god hates me. No, but i've come up with a plan, Im going to stop the 3x8 so it doesnt wear me out for the 5x5, im gonna go straight into the 5x5 for this exercise, if my bench doesnt move by the time im 160lbs, im going to be mighty confused, and also think everyone elses bench stats are bullshit. I know ive heard of hardgainers, but **** off has anyone had the experience of gaining lean muscle tissue and doing a workout for size and strength and becoming weaker as the weeks go by in just THIS exercise but get stronger in the rest. Retarded, my chest hates me.

2nd exercise
Incline bench:
3 sets 8 reps @ 80lbs Failed 3rd set 3rd rep
5 sets 5 reps @ 90lbs Swore a lot.

3rd exercise
Dumbell flys:
3 sets 8 reps @ 35lbs each arm Completed
5 sets 5 reps @ 40lbs each arm Completed
4th exercise
Cable flys:
3 sets 8 reps @ 60lbs Completed
5 sets 5 reps @ 80lbs Completed
5th exercise:
Bicep curls:
3 sets 8 reps @ 26lbs each arm Completed
5 sets 5 reps @ 33lbs each arm Completed
6th exercise:
Preacher curls
3 sets 8 reps @ 60lbs bent bar
5 sets 5 reps @ 65lbs bent bar
For some weird reason, a few tubby sugar puff monsters decided to screw there penises to these benches used for this exericse for my whole 50 minute exercise, as a result i had to cancel this exercise, I hate fat people now. This is my favourite exercise EVER.

NEW EXERCISE:
LYING DOWN BICEP CURLS
3 sets 8 reps @ 17.5lbs Completed
5 sets 5 reps @ 22lbs Completed
7(now kinda 8th)th exericse:
Cable curls
3 sets 8 reps @ 90lbs Completed
5 sets 5 reps @ 110lbs Completed
8th exercise.
Variety of backward curls for forearms
Same setup. (Including hammer curls) Completed
 
 
To sum up my day, not really that great, not only that but i had half a tin of tune earlier, gagged, and had to leave the rest because i felt insanely sick, im fed up of eating a ****ing fish every bloody 2-3 hours, i love the taste usually but now it makes me wanna hurl, I also am just irritated and tired, I had 5 hours sleep and since then ive had 8 hours of college, then had to walk into town to the gym, 1 hour roughly at gym, then straight to evening work til 9 pm which is now, well 9 15 but ive been typing.
And i think i shall now go shoot some wild birds and go to bed with a bottle of vodka in one hand and cigar in the other.

STOP, dude! You're making me crack up! LOL!

Trust me, I feel your pain. God hates me too. And yes, everyone else is LYING THROUGH THEIR MISERABLE TEETH about their bench numbers. Bull effing s**t, okay?? I'm not buying their brand!

I've seen huge, built-like-a-tank bodybuilders with pecs like freaking DICTIONARIES struggling to put up ten reps with a pair of 45s on a standard olympic bar. If you're benching more than that, you're just piss LUCKY, that's all! HA HA HA HA!

Ahhhh... what can a couple of 6'+ skinny dudes do? Smile

I do have one more theory, though... it involves a bit of quantum physics, but I think you're just the guy to prove it. I'm willing to bet that there is a higher concentration of gravity in my home gym -and probably yours too- that is causing OUR freeweights to be heavier than they are everywhere else. And this localized asymmetric gravitational anomaly (hey, that almost sounds scientific!) only affects iron. So you don't feel any heavier walking around in this region -just the weights. Yeah. I'm digging this theory. Someone get me bongos like Dick Feyman had! I need to flesh this puppy out!

Yes! I agree with that theory too! The funny thing is no one can say ****, because under laws of quantum physics and probability, and taking into account parrallell universes exist, there is one of everyone out there who has a **** bench for that reason, quantum physics states that every single thing can happen, even if its not meant to...I think i know why i failed physics this year...

You've seriously seen big chested tanks have trouble benching a 45 each side?

Hey man, don't worry about the bench, it will come, mine does the same damn thing... one week I do awesome, the next week, i fail 2 reps early, what the heck!?

I think though, Eventually the numbers will go up, and all the muscles grow and get used to the movements.
