Heart pulpitations from whey... - Friday, June 02, 2006 8:49 PM
My buddy was taking whey protein a few months ago and said he had to stop cause it was giving him heart pulpitations. I have noticed it too that makes you a little wired from the sugar in it. Anyone else have these problems?

No, at least in the one i take. The sugar content isnt even that high compared to just random things you could buy at a supermarket, such as soda, candy, etc. Was he taking anything else at the time.

40 shut up. At least back up your point if you say im wrong. You cant just say im wrong and not have anything to back it up besides the quote of the original post.

First off, don't ever tell me to shut up again.  You are how old?  15?  I think what the original poster meant was that he was experiencing heart palpitations, not "pulpitations" as he stated.  First off, do you two even know what heart palpitations are?  Sounds like you don't.  Anyway, there is absolutely nothing in whey protein that would trigger this type reaction.  The fact of the matter is, you didn't experience heart palpitations from whey protein, so move on.

For the heck of it.. I did look around on Pubmed and the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

I found nothing.

Maybe the whey protein supplement might have contained some type of caffeine or other stimulant?  That would be my only guess.

I really cant see argenine causing heart palpitations.  If its main effect is vasolidation*SP* then how can it cause irregular heart beat?  Im guessing it had some form of stimulant in it.

Hi,

There is little purpose in conveying this response, purely because it is not to do with the heart palpitation topic.

However, I am quite disturbed by the aggressive nature shown by "40 yard dash".

The most dangerous form of knowledge, is when someone feels they cannot be wrong, and therefore must belittle other people whom share a different view.

These other people may have been incorrect, "40 Yard Dash"; but rather than giving an outright "your wrong" response, I do think it is rather equitable that you supply an explanation to the person who asked the initial question, since they are requiring accurate information or a legitimate response.

Certainly belittling someone for trying to help acheives no purpose.

Nextbigthing,

Actually, those who offered a response adequately covered the topic - Im sure.

Further to that point:- I am unsure of their answer, therefore its far better for me to offer no advice, than bad advice.

There is no need to be bitter, in relation to another thread. You were being pushy and possessive towards someone elses problem, which I certainly felt it was reasonable to request you relaxed a bit.

NextBigThing,

This is a public forum. I'm entitled to post an opinion on a topic, as much as you are; so please stop this superiority complex you are expressing.

Again, for the 3rd time in as many posts; if JustBB isn't listening to your advice, merely do not continue to offer it to him. It is his loss, or his gain; and overall his choice.

Quite a simple concept, one would think.
