I personally started lifting weights in eight grade when I joined my school's wrestling team. Then in the summer between 9th grade and my sopomore year I decided I wanted to go up a couple of weight classes(from 130 lber  to 140 lber). Well I made it to 147, but when wrestling started I realized I liked lifting more than wrestling so I quit that. Now I lift purely to gain weight for rugby. A 150 lbs isn't as respected on a rugby field as in the ring.
My school is also an all boys school, and I would say about 50% of them are involved in sports and lift weights. So I don't stick out too much.

Passion does sound better than obsession.

I always envied the athletic kids at my school, would pick friends that were bigger than me and protect me (but no one actually had beef with me, i've never even came close to being in a fight) I was really sickly as a kid, 12-14 i had chronic stomach pains due to a stone in my appendix which eventually turned into an appendicidus (that was a night from hell), the ni went throught depression for 5 months came out on top.

Now I lift to raise my self-esteem, I'm more confident than ever, and I stray away from being ****y. People are noticing me all over, like I walk through the halls and people turn their heads to look at me, more than 15 people have thought that I have been using roids.

Lifting is my lifestyle now, and I don't know how I could live without it. Personal progress and dedication lets me know I can do anything I put my mind to within reason of course.

Got girls turning their heads at me ALL the time now, but I have the best girl in the whole school already (atleast my opinion), I just find it funny because I  was a really big computer nerd for 4 years, then this year everyone wants to be my friend. Just proves the shallow point even further.

I where a sweatshirt almost everyday when I go to school, so the people that don't hang out with me on weekends all think I'm tiny. Then one day I couldn't find it so I go w/o my sweatshirt. I must say I do like the compliments.
"****, you have huge arms"  (even though I'm not really that big)

the girls that I talk to after school "have you been wroking out?" (as I'm thnking only for 3 years...)

Then all my teachers started asking me if I play anysports, then the football coach called me into his office later that day.(he wanted me to be a tackling dummy... no t/y)

Ive actually thought about this a lot and ive come to the conclusion, is that its something that you think you can do and be the best at. but having the prefect body is an unreachable goal. you could lift for years and still see another guy/girl at the gym and wish you had there tri's or calf's.  Its that we all want what we don't have, yet we can still try.

Actually, I disagree with this for me personally.  I KNOW I won't have the perfect body--I'm not sure I know what that is anymore.  I guess perfect is in the eye of the beholder.  But I DO know that I can have a BETTER body than I have today.  Hence the ventures into the weight room and plunge into a vat full of boneless, skinless  chicken breasts and whey protein . . .  Smile

And oh yeah, it feels good, and keeps me exercising, which I understand is a good thing for my body . . . Smile

I love the strongest shoulders part!  BUT, dude, you're already special.  Don't think for a second that one gets "that" from the weight room.  It's just innate.  Just ask your parents or your girlfriend Smile

I have o disagree with the girlfriend part, you are only special to them until you get caught cheating or you become unsatisfied with her and break up with her. I have been with this girl for quite a while though, how unusual. your parents say your specialy because your their kid.
