in some cases it might be able to.. im not totally sure but you could mess up your bone structure and have that mess up you growing. since youre 15 your bones arent done growing and if you mess them up they could be damaged, you know?

yeah but it doesnt mean that your growth wasnt stunted...because you maybe could have been a couple inches taller if you had not started lifting that early

if you started after puberty you should be fine, there wont be damage unless you were accually hurt.

However if you start for what ever reason before puberty like a certin ****y 12 yearold on this fourm, the risk of stunting your growth increases, and there most likely will be damage done and you will not be your full height

Actually, weight lifting won't stunt your growth at all. Thats like saying basketball will make you taller. There's absolutely no logistical, scientifically, biological, spirtual reason for lifting to stunt growth. Its just a myth like weight lifting keeps you from being limber. No, not stretching keeps you from being limber. So yea, theres no truth to it.

hrmm well im 4 inches taller than my dad already so i dont think my growth got stunted that badly... but yeah i started at around late 12...

I know a guy who is 8-9 inches taller than there dad and 12-13 inches taller than there mum.

Quite hysterical actually...and strange...lol

Guess he got some recessive gene from years ago in his family

Weightlifting wont stunt growth unless you injure yourself badly from doing it.
95% of growth is from DNA makeup, not exercise and nutrition, though that might help you with a 1/4" here and there.

Keep on lifting, just make sure to not injure yourself

strange paradox, the human "what if" which can only truly be proved by going back in time and doing things differently, true the guy might have got to 6'3-6'4...but i doubt it...DNA makes most of our growth, and in any case children play around loads, when you run you put your bodyweight down onto your legs many times, leg bones and muscle are meant to deal with them beatings, so weightlifting with legs will do jack ****, and arms etc...well strength is determined by muscle, and in general people who start weightlifting unless gifted can only lift there bodyweight in most exercises excluding legs, so they cant damage themself, and by the time they can lift more, there muscles are bigger and can enforce the bone more, bone is softer the younger the person, but after age 15 you pretty much have adult bones in most respects, others might be late growing and have to wait til later ages.

Ive grown 2 inches since i started lifting, and at a strange age of 18.

well my cousin started lifting at an early age, like at 8 or 10, and before that he had passed a test at the hospital to know how tall he would be, and these tests are extremely precise. the error is like +-1 inch. the test had predicted 6'7" +- 1 inch, and now he is only 6'4", so obviously growth was altered...
