Genes don't prevent anyone from getting the body they want- Any reasonably healthy person at least. I don't care how big everyone in your family is, you CAN get a six pack. I don't care how skinny you are, you CAN bulk up. It's hard work, not genes, that stops most people. Yes, it's genes that gives someone a fast or slow metabolism- But it's hard work that overcomes that obstacle. Determination to eat what it takes eating in order to reach our goals. To keep lifting weights, and paying attention to rest. Sure, there are people out there with "good genes"- They're naturally stronger, even if they don't work out. They might have grown up with tons of muscle and with the slightest attention to proper diet, might easily achieve a nice six pack- But for most people, we have to work hard to get those results. Don't envy that guy- If he doesn't have to work too hard for it, when his system starts to slow down, it's going to hit him hard unless he steps up to the plate. Meantime, you'll have been there for years, putting in all the hard work, and you're used to it- It's a part of your life. Him, not so used to it, might quit easier. So don't dismiss stuff as bad genes without a fight. The "I don't have the genes" excuse is really "I don't have the b*lls, but I'd like to blame it on something else."
