Yeah Jen, maybe these could help you get to the 125 mark. I have really felt good after doing these, but boy do they hurt. Laser

It seems like I struggle more with the lower half of the lift, as opposed to the upper half (which I assume is what the lockouts work on?) If I go down too low, that is when I really struggle to get the bar up.

Same for me, yet these lockouts seem to improve my overall strength. They are also great for my confidence, because I can actually get a feel for the heavier weight and how I can handle it. Laser

Wednesday May 5 Legs Warmups Squats 155x12,155x10,205x8,255x4,305x1 Workout Squats 365x6,365x6,355x6 (pwolf said I was not getting the depth with 365, so I backed down for the 3rd set),445x0 Bottom Squats 225x3 (I plan to hit these alot more in the future, I need help at the bottom) Nautilus Leg Curls 190x10,200x10,200x10 (last rep was let out as a negative and it hurt ) Calf Raises 500x10,500x10+pulse to fail,60sec hold at full flex Squats 205x15 (I was still pissed, so I wanted to burn the quads up some) I was a little upset with how things turned out today. I had hoped to set a new max with ease, yet when I got 445 down I was done . As pwolf says I should not get too consumed with my failure to get 445, but that is a hard thing to do. Tomorrow is deadlifts, maybe that will cheer me up. Laser

Thursday May 6 Back Warmups Deadlifts 135x12,135x10,185x8,225x6,275x2 Workout Deadlifts 335x6,335x6,335x6 (I lost my grip on the last rep on 3rd set, had to put weight down and regrip to finish),405x1 Rear Delt Machine 70x8,70x8,70x8 Barbell Shrugs 245x6 (Stopped after 1set, because I was told to correct my form. With correct form I would need a cup .) Dumbell Shrugs 95x12,95x10 Close Grip pulldowns 220x6 (I only got out 1 set, because I did not realize how late it was) Well, I got 405 out on deadlifts. I need to finish the rest of my back work tomorrow. I can mix it in with arms. I also want to do some dips, got some advice from a beast and he wants me to do alot of dips to help my bench strength. Friday May 7 Arms Warmups Standing EZBar Curls 37x12,37x10,47x8,67x4,87x2 Workout Standing EZBar Curls 87x6,87x6,87x6,107x1+1x8 sec negative Dips 11xBW,7xBW,6xBW V-Bar Cable Pushdowns 85x8,95x8,105x8,155x1+2x5 sec negative Parallel-grip Chinups 2xBW (did not like these and the regular bar was taken) Cardio Stairclimber 2 mins 18 floors 33 cals Treadmill 4 mins 6.5 mph 77 cals Other than the fact I missed out on the chinups, this was a good workout. Those dips are brutal in quantity. We purposely wanted to put on the pain, so we started with a 12 rep set. I pulled/strained a muscle on my ribcage on Tuesday and it is still aching. I can feel it at the top of a heavy breath and it is sharp. I hope I can shake this without too much trouble. Laser

Well, went to the hospital yesterday. They ran tests and took xrays. Their determination is that it is just muscular. They said it looks as though the muscles pulled away from the ribcage. They recommend resting the muscles a day or 2 and go light with the weights until it feels good again. They prescribed Flexorall and Percocet to help me sleep and heal. Hopefully, I can get through this quickly, I miss the gym already. Laser

Tuesday May 18th Cardio Well I have gone back to the gym, but I am not allowed to do anything heavy. That is like giving me the keys to a Ferrari and telling me I can sit in it, but not drive it. So I went to at least break a sweat. Treadmill 15:48 Total time 5:00 @ 6.0MPH, 5:00 @ 6.6MPH, 3:00 @ 7.1MPH, 2:48 of cooldown (4.0,3.0,1.5) Distance: 1.57Miles Cals: 299 StairClimber (I am so not used to this machine) 2:30 Time 20 Floors 47 cals burned I got the itch REAL bad and had to lift something. I talked to the trainer and he told me I would be alright doing arms. I was working on them when he came over and threatened a boot in the butt if I did not lower the weight. I was not hurting, but I trust his words. I won't bother listing the work, since it is nowhere near what I would normally workout with. Just did it to do a little weight. I will try legs tomorrow with medium weight, provided my ribs feel well after today's adventure. I will admit I was quite tired after that little bit of cardio. On a side note, the gym may push the lifting event 2 weeks. This will allow me to get back in the saddle for it. That would be sweet. Laser
