Avoiding Cutting and Bulking

It seems as though the primary line of thought in body building these days is to Bulk up for months and then Cut up for months. But I was wondering if there was another way. I sort of got the idea from another posting that Cursor neither cuts or bulks but manages to maintain proper diet levels to get lean and grow muscle. I' m assuming something like this is just significantly more difficult to really perfect than a Cutting/Bulking diet, is that right? Am I way off target here? Any comments please.
