"how quickly do the levels fluctuate in a healthy human upon the consumption of glucose, and to what extent?" I already answered this No, we have enzymes and hormones themselves to speed things up, facts are your insulin spikes last, at best, a minute, maybe two, after this As soon as the glucose can starts getting into the bloodstream the effect will be almost instantaneous, the body works very fast, and hormones are designed to be powerful and work fast. In general yes, the amount of blood sugar is dependant on insulin output, however personally i dont think its best to continuously stress the pancreas for continuous amounts of insulin. Also if you eat too much you get sugar crash

A Student Exercise: The Glucose Tolerance Test We have a student experiment that is offered to first-year medical students. This is actually a clinical test (glucose tolerance test), used to determine a patient's ability to secrete insulin and maintain normal blood glucose levels after a glucose load. The students fast overnight, come to the University and take part in the morning's teaching. They then measure their blood sugar level 10-14 hours following their last meal, drink a glucose mixture containing 75 grams of glucose and determine blood glucose levels after 30 and 120 minutes. Here is a set of typical results. You can see that despite the long fasting period and the stress of coming to the University and participating in classes, they still had a normal blood sugar level at the start of the experiment. Thirty minutes after drinking the sugar solution they had blood glucose levels of approximately around 7 mmol/l. Two hours after the glucose loading the student's blood sugar had reached a normal resting level. He said Dr j Then, of course, this goes to the weightlifting goal of getting an insulin spike to facilitate muscle growth - if the insulin spike doesn't exist, there is really no point to this, is there? The point of the question was to say insulin spike was another fad, and according to him you DID NOT answer his questions, homes is anal thats my point. and the diagram above has 75g glucose load, and look at the spike. Im not even talking about 75g of glucose, Im talking 100g carb with maybe 20g glucose if that. Look I dig the fact you dont just take someones word for it, but F&*k......go put musceltech out of business if you want to disprove some sh*t. Insulin spike seems basic and proven. Let it go

Insulin is the mediator b/w amino acids, glucose etc. getting into your muscles aka without insulin there would be no way for amino acids and glucose to get into muscles. So after you workout when your muscles are most secpetible to replenishment the more insulin available the better. Its not rocket science.
