i would have to agree with the compound lifts for abs. I have actually got the top 4 now and before never had anything with just sit ups.

I couldn't tell you the last time I did direct ab work to be honest...

i'm gonna be an ass and give it to you bluntly.. Less INPUT, More OUTPUT. Lots of heavy compound lifts. Run if necessary to use excess calories. it's that easy

First of all, Lean Cuisine and Pop Tarts are not good food. If you want low bodyfat and prominent abs you are first going to need to educate yourself on proper dieting. Though I respect some of the people who've posted in this thread, I think way too much emphasis is placed on the all-beneficial compound lift. Yes, they are the best way to get big and strong....but in my opinion they alone aren't enough to get 99% of people to their goals. If you want prominent abs make sure your workouts are fast paced and intense. Work up a sweat every time your in the gym. You dont need HIIT or any specific program to do this......just get in there and bust your ass. Weighted crunches are a must. Granted I've always had pretty low BF, my abs never looked good until I started hammering them frequently. Twice a week I'd do weighted situp circuit training. Once you have low bodyfat (below 10%) I suggest you start doing that. Eat properly (your not doing this right now), work out intensely, once you hit 10% do direct weighted ab work 2x's a week. Done.
