post cardio meal

taking advise from boomer, by going to the gym twice a day whilst cutting. cardio morning, lifts after work... if i am going straight onto cardio machine when i get up (possibly have protein bar first) then what should i have post cardio. i normally have my shake after a lift with a banana. is it the same with cardio or should i jus have a banana?

after cardio you should probably have some whey protein and mix in some bcaa powder. you should also have some bcaa's before you get your cardio on in the morning. why are you doing cardio in a catabolic state? that's not in your best interest, unless you like watching you muscles eating themselves b/c they have no nutrients while you do cardio.

bcaa powder = branch chain amino acids. protein is made up of what we call amino acids, several of them. so bcaa is just already broken-down protein. it's absorbed quicker than the normal protein powder.

HOWEVER... your muscles need some type of food. if you get up from sleeping for 8 hours, and hit the treadmil.. your body is CRAVING nutrients. so if you don't give the muscles a substantial amount of food, the body will pull from the muscles in order to fuel your cardiovascular session. catabolism - ... wikipedia that term if you need to. i'm not saying you need to eat a full meal. but 25 grams of whey protein with BCAA powder is enough muscle food to keep the muscles fed, and the body can pull from the fat reserves and eat those calories. make sense?

whey has to be broken down, so either take it 30 minutes before hopping on the treadmil.. OR, you can take the whey with bcaa powder. and the powder is absorbed within a few minutes b/c it's already in the broken-down state.. ready to be used.

I would do your cardio when you can. If you want to seperate them then that is fine. Most of your cutting is going to come from limiting your calories, cardio will help you burn some fat but not if you are consuming more energy(calories) then you are burning. If you do cardio in the morning, then I would take some BCAA before workout and then have your normal breakfast postcardio. If you do cardio when you lift then I would lift first, then do cardio. I would still take bcaa before workout and then take whey and bcaa postWO. I would then have a meal after about an hour postWO.

sounds like most of your muscle is in the upper body zultan. great job on starting to work the legs. neglecting them will only get you SO far... trust me, i was the same way. you'll see great gains once you get your foundation (legs) caught up to where your upper body is at

Hahaha you must have some serious bird legs. Just hit the squats up and you will see some great gains in your legs. Hopefully you don't have the same problem with your calves that I do. I'm 6'8" and my calves are around 16.5" and they look so skinny cuse my long legs. Good luck and dont negelct your legs.
