Tuesday, July 15, 2008 10:43 AM
Hi my name is Mahika and I am new to this forum. My goal as a woman is not to become bulk but to get ABS I have been working out for the last 2 years and have nice muscles but NO ABS. well should not say that they seem to be shy. I have never try any diet but I am wondering if someone can give me a tip on diet..I am not to let go of my chocolat bar on fridays but still would like to know if you can suggest something. Thanks all Mahika

Well I'm not a diet expert, so I'm not gonna start there. But I will say I wanted abs at the beginning of the year and I barly had a 3 pack. What I did was just do sit ups every night for about 10-20 minutes, yeah its a pain in the ass, but its worth it. After about 1-2 months I noticed the last 3 came in and I have been doing them sense august last year and now I have eight so, If you really want abs, might as well go for that, unless someone else here has an easier solution, I'm all ears on this one.

abs won't show if there is a layer of fat infront of them. diet will show the abs. working out the abs will make them bigger and harder, but even the biggest abs won't show through fat.

i wasnt going to reply but after kris's comment i should. dont waste your time with sit ups every night unless your bodyfat is low enough like dmobley said. abs can be worked 2-3x a week and that will be enough, the rest has to do with how much fat you have

Hi RedJeep, your 100% right to be honest . But I do not want to try anything also. This is why when I saw this Site that someone real not a advertisement could give me a tip or a link to diet or else. Thank for your reply!

ORIGINAL: Mahika Thanks David1991 for your comment if I look at your pic then i assume that you know what your talking about!!! hahahaha, thats ronnie coleman one of the biggest body builders right now. it is confusing though. you should still listen to him though. also don't think of it as a diet but a lifestyle change.

you should be careful about going by someones size for knowledge. there are some skinny people who know a lot about what they're talking about and some really big/muscular people who dont know **** lol

you have no abs huh? if you didn't have abs, you'd have no stationary muscles holding you up and you would fall over face first. EVERYONE has abs. even 400 pound people. you have abs, but you want to get your BF % low enough to where you can see them. which is why i kinda laugh when i see obese people at the gym doing lots of crunches. it really isn't going to do anything for them at the moment. and they should be on the treadmil getting rid of excess body fat so you can see certain muscles. many people are misled in this type of thinking.
My name is FOX.... and I approve this message.

im sure this has been posted but you are going to want to find your resting metabolic rate there are plenty of calculators online just google it. From there subtract 300 or so calories and have that as your target each day for caloric intake. You should be losing roughly 1.1 pounds a week doing that alone. Now if you incorporate cardio into your routine you can lose more each week but dont go past 3 pounds a week as that can be very unhealthy in the long run.
