Oh, and the only reason why I decided to do legs today was because I was reading in another section of the forum and 'the fox' said just because your a little sore, doesnt mean you shouldnt work out.  I felt fine today anyways.

Well, I get to go to physical therapy for my arm/back.  He said it was something with my bicep tendon causing my elbow problem, it only hurts when I bowl, or arnold presses aggravate it, its the turning movement that does it.

Today was a rest day, and tomorow is as well, a tooth has been bothering me, I guess it has 3 cavities, so they are getting fixed tomorow, has been bothering the hell out of me for like a week.

RE: Pauls New Journal - Sunday, July 27, 2008 6:57 AM
Friday - Went to physical therapy for back/neck and Bicep tendon.  It was basically just an intro, and she gave me some stretches to do.  She told me not to do deadlifts, squats, overhead presses or curls for two weeks... Heh.  She said rows and lat pulldowns were good though.

Saturday.  Did squats and lunges at home, didnt feel like leaving the house, also did some ab excersises... Leg lifts, crunches etc.

Sunday.  Went to the gym:  Lowered my rest time from about 2.5mins to 90secs

Bench

135x4 Warm up, slow to form..

185x4.5 ya didnt get the last one all the way up, also didnt rest.

155x5x3

Dips:

40lb assist 8x3

tricep extensions

70x6
70x5
60x8

DB Bench:

55'sx5x3

27 minutes on treadmill 3.7mph/9deg incline

weight was 231.0

Another note - I can see a difference between my weekly pics finally, comparing myself to my first one 23 days ago.  My man boobs look smaller.

RE: Pauls New Journal - Monday, August 04, 2008 1:49 PM
worked out for the first time in 7 days today, my back has been killing me.  Didnt want to give up all my muscle gains, so I did a full body workout, 1 minute rests.  I dont think I will be able to workout again until Friday or Saturday... Crazy week + Painful back = no gym.

Bench:

135x10 - slow
135x8 - slow
135x8 - fast

Lat pulldowns

145x8
145x8
145x8

DB Squats

30's = 10 squats
30's = 10 squats
25's = 10 squats

Rows - I did a lighter weight and at the top of the motion I would squeeze my lats, as it is an exercise the Physical therapist makes me do.

70x8x3

DB Lunges

20sx10x3

My weight was 224.6 or 227.6

I weighed myself on one scale and it said 224, and this is the scale I normally weigh i on, and It kinda freaked me out so I weighed myself on another and was 227.  This back pain has taken away my apetite somewhat, and I dont think I have been drinking as much water.

Does your back bother you when you do a workout or when you don't? Mine use to bother me if I did, now that I've been working out a while it bothers me if I'm not in the gym. Had a pop last week but my muscles held the spine from moving. One year ago I would have been out. Now i'm working out the muscle pain that came from that, but it is no where near the pain I use to get.

When I wake up in the morning, I can sometimes feel maybe a 10% pain in my back, sometimes nothing.  About 2 hours into my day at work (all standing and moving) I can certainly feel it bothering me, at 5 hours in, I have been taking a percaset (sp?), because the pain is quite bothersome, it doesnt give me relief from pain, but it relaxes me mentally and I feel like I can deal with it then.  Ive tried all sorts of over the counter drugs to help with the pain, but they do nothing.  When I workout I can certainly feel it bothering me whenever Im standing.  During Bench press I cant tell there is any problem

Is the working out helping you any? Do you notice a difference? Doing Dumb Bell bent rows supporting myself on a bench has really helped my back muscles deal with all of the spine problems.

The pain has only been really bad for about 2 weeks.  I really dont feel like the working out helps me at all, I think I just need a few days off of my feet, which isnt very feasable without doctors orders..  I think what I did was compressed my spine running, and doing squats on a machine.  The physical therapist said something like the discs or whatever in my upper back were very tight, and not moving like they should.

Re:Pauls New Journal - Sunday, September 28, 2008 3:33 AM
Well... It's been quite a 7 weeks... hehe.  Was put on Sick leave for my back Aug 12th, and am off until Oct 15th at this point.  I stopped going to the gym to hopefully let my back heal, but I tried going back to work Sep 12th, and it had gotten worse, so Wednesday I hit the gym again.

Another reason I never even looked at the gym was because I got a concussion.. Had to give some blood for tests, and passed out cold in the parking lot... fell backwards, was out a few minutes I guess, had to get a cat scan,because I was loopy for 4 weeks.  I feel better now though.

My workout was simple, but ouch...  Legs were super sore.

Im going to start hitting it again, and posting.  7 weeks of physical therapy, and no gym made me weak.

Weight was 217.6
