Actually, 8pack, the only time it's too late for icing is when that body part has fallen off. Sure, the benefits of not icing immediately are much lower but it still helps. Paul

Well, For strains, pulled muscles; You need to apply ice right away to reduce swelling. I really wouldnt waste my time putting ice the next day if i havent done it right away. I have strained my muscle before(im pretty sure it was a strain) and i had made a small research on it and found this for the icing part... ice it immediately so you can reduce the swelling. Wrap ice in a clothing and avoid using ice directly on the skin. Apply ice for 10-15 minutes every one hour for the first day and then every three to four hours. Use ice for the first 3 days. After that, heat or ice may be helpful. Other then that, -You will need to rest the pulled muscle for at least one day, more is better. -While the pulled muscle is in pain, avoid using your pulled muscle, and when the pain is gone, go ahead and start activity slowly and in moderation. -If your able to keep the strained muscle elevated, that would be great(but i dont think chris_Ryan can do that, he pulled it in his back)

Rippedchick is right, sleep is the main thing your going to need. I pulled my arm the other week trying to deadlift 200 and look ripped. The only thing that looked ripped after that was my shorts. Anyhow, just sleep on it. It will take a while but it works better than anything. Ice works for a little while but its definitly not worth carrying around. Don't listen to any of that massage(sp?) crap. It feels good for about a hour but afterwards it feels like someone hit you in the arm with a baseball bat.

man one time last year i was sleeping then my alarm clock when off at the usual time 5 o clock a.m. when i sat up to get out of bed some muscle in my neck just snapped or pulled whatever, but right then god it felt like i was being stabed in the neck. i couldn't move without being in extreme pain so i just sorta laid there on the floor for a cple min's then i urged myself to get in bed. it took awhile for it to heal asll the way. i was told to put heatr on it, and so put a electric heat pad on it lol.
