good idea to train legs with shoulders

for mass on those legs, stick to the basics: 4 sets of 10-12 reps

leg extensions
squats
leg presses
hamstring curls
standing calf raises

keep good form and u cant go wrong,  good diet of course

Squats are key.
Do some research into proper form then hit the bike for a warm up.
A good tip from Arnold's encyclopedia of body building: With squats and deadlifts don't limit yourself to 3 or 4 sets. They target large muscles not prone to overtraining. For example my leg workout goes as follows
Bike warmup
Squats
warmup 135x10
warmup 135x15
1st set 185x12
2nd set 225x12
3rd set 255x10
4th set 275x8
5th set 295x4-6

super set leg extensions and hamstring curls for 1 warmup each then 3 lifting sets

standing calf raises 2 good warm ups
then 5 sets of 15 while going progressively heavier

I didn't post weights for the last exercises because after the squats just do what you can. Also it depends on the type of machines in your gym.
(My calf machine claims I can do 500lbs. but if I put a 500lb. barbell on my back I wouldn't be moving at all) Stick with this workout and "stretch between every set" Give yourself a 10-15 minute cool down on a bike at the end then stretch again.  Replace squats with leg presses every four workouts.
