lower back pain... - Friday, November 09, 2007 6:10 AM ( #1 )
I had my regular lower body workout on wednesday, and I was a little sore (my butts) on thursday but I had no pain.

Today when I woke up, I had a pain in my lower back, right side, right above my butt... My form was same as always and I wasn't lifting anything too heavy... It was 4X10 day for Hypetrophy 1-B in NROL.

I know I am gonna have to stop working out until the pain goes away, but what's better for the pain? cold or hot treatement?

This happens to me sometimes-- I'm not sure exactly what causes it-- but try sleeping on your back, rather than on your side.
Shoulders back.
Head high.
Always progressing.

Supps: whey, flax oil, food, water

and Super Pump, it makes me dizzy sometimes

Also,

I wouldn't be too concerned with hot or cold treatment, just some light stretching each day to return your Range Of Movement and rest.

Thats all. If it does'nt get any better in a week or so, see your GP.

I had it once, try stretching the hamstring a lot everyday, keep good form and dont exagerate on the weights, it should go away

I have this type of pain on constant! I'm seeing a Physical Therapist. This particular muscle (pain) has caused really nasty issues with my L4-L5 region and also my S1-S2. My Hip, and my hams - Luckily it hasn't gone to knees and ankles. (I've had severe cramping in this muscle on a constant basis) which pulls your back out of alignment, and affects your gait.
Heat for muscle, cold for joint/tendon/inflamation.

I have some phenomenal topical muscle spray that I use on this area and it helps tremendously to keep it 'loose'.

Look up some information on back stretches for this particular area. If it gets out of hand it can be VERY unpleasant.

If its the little muscle on the right hand side of your spine, right above your buttock  this can affect your "core" meaning even working tris, bis, chest can be affected - causing bad form causing further pain and joint/bone injury. I see way more men/women in the gym with horrible form and it hurts me just watching them. The minute you loose form - stop even if you haven't reached fatigue. "Re-set" and start again.

I will have days where I lift really light to help my "core" maintain it's form. They are my "core concentration" days.
