I realized yesterday that i may be lifting this way. I do a full body split mon-wed-fri amd just recently i decided i wanted to try texas method training for my squats and bench press. So monday i basically did the weight i could do (bench - 185, squat - 185) Wednesday i went 10% lower on each excerices and i was doing 4 sets of 8. Than cam the all important friday workout, where i have to max out. I was gonna try doing 3 sets of 3 reps, so i racked up 225 on the squat. I ended up hammering out 4 sets of 8 to my amazement because i never tried two plates before. Then i went to the bench and racked 205 and also did 4 sets of 8. I was in shock, until yesterday i thought i was lifting to capacity but i guess not. Time to up all my weight i think. Keep in mind i only weight 160 pounds too.

if u dont believe u can lift something, the chances are that u wont. u gotta believe in urself and try to keep progressing and believe u can progress. many things can limit your lifting capacity on any given day, alcohol, lack of sleep, lack of food, stress etc etc. you see the results when ur in good condition mentally.
After a few months: Weight: 177lbs 6 reps Deadlift: 300lbs Squat: 240lbs Bench: on hold. Rotator cuff injury

^^Truer words were never penned... er... keyboarded? I continue to amaze myself at how much I'm holding back, just because I let my head get in the way. I dawdled around with a pair of plates on each side for squats for over two months before I realized I was just jerking off. So I slapped a couple of tens on to see if it made any difference. Nope. Two more tens. Cake. Okay, Veg, quit effing around and grab those 35s. Oh gee, would you look at that? Adding 70 lbs to your squat in ONE workout! So much of the time, it really is all in your head.

ye man there r days where i can squat 365 for 8-10 reps.. and then days where i cant get 250 6 times.. really does depend on your day.. its frustrating asd hell

shredded06 ye man there r days where i can squat 365 for 8-10 reps.. and then days where i cant get 250 6 times.. really does depend on your day.. its frustrating asd hell know the feeling!!!
