lets attack other forums

so i was thinking, i say we (db forum) just pick random forums and just start flaming like crazy and saying things such as "this is our forum now, bitche$"  and like take it over. it would be so crazy. like start a war. it could be like "either join us or die" until we own all the forums in the world, and marc david could be king. it may just be a crazy dream but i think every man has a right to dream

i dont think were ready to attempt to take over bb forum so maybe start off small and then one day we may take over the world.

i remember some dude awhile back saying he hates ebaums. even though i have no beef; someone does so i say we go after them. like everyone like sign up their and when general marc david says charge we all just start posting db rules threads until like the entire front page of the forum is all db rules threads. even the best team of mods in the world cant ban a 1000+ ppl and delete/lock 1000+ threads. it would take forever, they can either give in or we continue until the forum is dead.

Ah yes.  We like to call this mass-spam-advertisement.  The only problem with spam advertisement, is that it's annoying and frowned apon.  I would suggest you do don't do this.

If all the other forums have crappy juciehead members, why would we want to recruit them?  Another thing, spamming DBB on other boards makes Marc look bad. 

Not to mention if you piss off the wrong people at those forums, the DBB board can be counterattacked just as easily.  Or worse.  Hacked.  A webmasters worst nightmare.

its not advertising; its war. for all i care it can be moralski rules threads. the goal is not to bring more traffic to db but to take over other forums (and the world, mahahaha)

I hope you realise that any bad press you create for DBB.com out there on the net, any negative $hit you attract over here, and acting like moron in general while doing whatever stupid thing you had in mind under the DBB.com/Marc David banner will result in you geting banned from here as well.
 
You can go have your immature fun, but as soon as it starts any trouble here or starts being associted with DBB.com or Marc David.. BOOM! youre outa here.

DBB.com has a very good reputation on the net - its one of the primary reasons that this site is one of the fastest growing. Last thing this site needs is a bunch of tools who have nothing better to do than to create **** on other boards.

Exactly. This isn't what DB's all about. Besides you kids would get eaten alive out there.

No. All I meant was the mods will come down on the spammers and it will be much less exciting than you expected. 

Even if DB is not mentioned in other forum posts of yours, we don't want our members talking about it here.

Spam on forums is annoying. We have to delete spam every day here on DB from people who either try to promote something of theirs or because they're immature and have nothing better to do with their time. I know I wouldn't like it if another forum gathered members to visit DB to create some spam "just for fun." It's not fun... it's work... and Marc, I, and other mods here have to clean it up every day.

Youre creating $hit for the rest of the DBB.com members who obey the rules and dont feel it necessary to start flaming other boards because they have nothing better to do.

I understand the intention of this...

But as a forum admin, I ask you not to do such things.  People already do it to DB.com and as you can see, it takes up valuable time and effort from the moderators who might be able to help somebody out, to delete posts and lock threads.

In the end, it accomplishes nothing.  I appreciate the good-will to make this the #1 forum but we really can keep doing what we are doing and get there.

Attacking other forums isn't the way to go.

If anything, post HELPFUL and really good advice on other boards and maybe link a few posts from there to here (like one of Dan's long posts about bulking).

Or create your signature to reference DB.com in some manner without being "spam" like.

Now you've helped somebody out, you've GIVEN solid info somewhere else and really posted quality information at another site and maybe linked to a better and longer post here.

Now that's a way to help DB.com out.

A few others here (maybe a lot) post on other boards and link around.  Accomplishs the same thing (popularity and visability) but in a good manner and friendly so nobody gets riled up and deletes posts or spreads the bad karma.
