Hello all have been reading alot of this site recently so i thought why not register, thanks for all the tips they've helped me alot as i wasnt to familar with building muscle.

Just thought i'd post this in, have been going to the gym 3 months now will post results
at end of every month.

going to start taking protein shakes after workout, was thinking about Optimum Nutrition 100% whey is this a good choice? would be greatful for replys

cold measurements = NOT right after you lift. several hours after/before your workout.. or on your off/resting days.


hot measurements = taken directly after you workout, when the muscle is pumped.. or "hot" due to large amounts of bloodflow.


some people take hot measurements, but it's really not accurate b/c the muscle shrinks after a little bit and goes back to it's real "cold" size.

take all of your measurements cold. it will give you a better idea of where you're at.

you can take the hot ones if you want, but it really doesn't mean too much. when i had 17 inch biceps, they were close to 18 inches when measured HOT, but i never posted that as a measurement, b/c after lifting they would shrink back to 17 inches. hope that makes sense.
