i went and lifted with my friend yesterday and tried his routine and he did chest/tris and for chest he does 1 warm up flat bench set for 10 reps 3 flat bench sets for 6 reps each 1 warm up decline bench set for 10 reps 3 decline bench sets for 6 reps each 1 warm up incline bench set for 10 reps 3 incline bench sets for 6 reps each 1 warm up cable fly set for 10 reps 3 cable fly sets for 6 reps each 1 warm up skullcrunchers set for 10 reps 3 skullcruncher sets for 6 reps each 1 warm up pulldown set for 10 reps 3 pulldown sets for 6 reps each 1 warm up set of dips for 10 reps 3 sets of dips for 6 reps each is all of this work necessary? are all the sets and reps necessary?

he's wasting time IMO. after 1 warmup set for flatbench, you should be good to go for ALL of your chest lifts. granted, you probably don't want to throw a HUGE load of weight on your first set of a new lift (ex - decline) but i agree with you.... 1 warmup set is sufficient, and after 3 sets of heavy chest.. WHY IN THE WORLD would you warmup on incline or decline? it's just targeting the chest at a different angle. haha... seems foolish and stupid IMO to warmup over and over. the muscles are hot already from flatbench.
