ideal measurements

Hi all i'm continuing with my cut down to 12% bf (currently around 15/16%). However, i'm worried that i might start to look 'skinny' at 12% bf. I'm 6'4" so obviously pretty tall. What do you think would be good measurements to aim for for arms, legs, waist, chest etc to keep a good 'muscular' physique (not OTT). Any help, especially if you're the same height, would be really appreciated! Thanks

- 6.5 times your wrist gives chest girth
- 85% of the chest girth produces the hips
- Take 70% of the chest girth for the waist
- 53% of the chest gives the thigh girth
- The neck size is 37% of the chest
- 36% of the chest produces the upper arm girth
- The calves come out a little less at 34%
- The forearms get 29% of the chest measurement
Bench Press Max - 170kg @ 100kg Squat Max - 220kg @100kg Deadlift Max - 275kg @100kg Weight - 90kg

If you don't want to look skinny, then focus on gaining lean muscle mass. 12% bodyfat is not too low.

chris_w1987 Thanks for that I know my arms are currently 14" and my chest is 40" with waist at 36". What should i be looking to aim for realistically? Thanks again if youre naturally slim and quite lean, a 43-44" chest would be an exc ellent starting point. with this you would ideally have 15.5" biciepss, 32" waist etc

Thanks again Im 6'5" and if you have 14" arms right now at 15% bodyfat i really suggest you bulk for another 15+ pounds before you think of cutting. You will look pretty skinny trust me i know. Also what is your current weight? Any pics you could toss up to see what you are working with?

I have posted this pic before but it should give you an idea. I'm just stuck with where to go next. I don't want to put on fat weight by bulking so was thinking of cutting to 12% bulking with risk of going to 15% bf then cutting back to around 10-11%? Where would you go from here?

Just bulk, if you play this I don't wanna put on a ounce of fat game... you are not going to get anywhere... Everybody has their threshold for how big they can stand to get before they cut... but your not working with anything... Your gonna fall into this cycle of going 2 steps forward... 1 and 1/2 back.... This fear of fat holds back so many young guys, from reaching their goals. Just add some cardio, to keep the fat in check. Commit to a bulk for a good long while... then cut. Body building is a marathon, and you don't win marathons by breaking the race up into wind sprints.

Yes, my packs have gone on vacation, but I know where they are, and I'm going to have a friggin' BLAST digging them back out. This game rises and falls on long-term thinking; even a full year of bulking can fly by in a blink.

I like that calculator, according to my wrist what my chest should be is right about on, only thing lacking is biceps slightly smaller and calves slightly smaller than matching up, other than that my waist is too big!!!!!! Planned cut is after I get atleast 10 lbs more muscle next spring ish, or more like 15 lbs if i can. Now to the OP, I'm going to side with hardway as well, and looking at your picture you should put on some mass. If you are a beginner you can put on a good 30 lbs no problem in your first year with a proper diet, and have it be really lean, my first bulk I put on 25 ish almost 30 lbs in less than 4 months, but I wouldn't try to go that fast. Give it a year and think about cutting then.

Well that was when my testosterone was at a huge peak, was horny all the time like no other. I didn't feel fat at the end of it either. My legs had a huge increase in size. I dunno if I could put a guess on numbers but I would put money on atleast over half of the weight was lean mass, and I think it was honestly more than that. The difference between what I was lifting before i started to after was a nice indication as well. I lift more now, but how pathetic my lifting was before I even did that bulk was a nice indicator. Was true beginner gains. I had exercised before but never lifted like that, or ate that consistent.
