Something terrible has happened, today my bench broke. I have one where you can raise and lower it by pulling a tab and sliding the back up and down, and the tab just came out! But im too upset because i just plan on getting a new better one. Does anyone have a bench at home that works well? I' ld like one that can be raised at various inclines. Thx for the comments!

I just found out something disturbing about the bench I use at work- Seems like a good thread to mention it, since you' ll probably want to check into this before buying. I was resting between sets of bench presses the other day when I noticed a little sticker on one of the supports- It gave the weight capacity for the bench in flat, incline and decline positions. Flat was six hundred pounds, incline was lower (can' t remember that number) but decline really bothered me- It was only three hundred and sixty pounds. Sounds like a lot of weight, but at the bottom of the sticker, I was informed that the weights noted included the weight of the person on the bench. I weigh 180 pounds, which means I would only be able to safely decline press my body weight on that bench. (I don' t really do declines right now anyway, but that' s besides the point, isn' t it?) Make sure you check out the load capacity for each position before you make a purchase, unless you plan on sticking to light weights.
