Hey yall. I am 15 years old. I powerlift in the 165 pound weight class. As of right now I am 170 pounds. How can I lose weight without losing strength? Thanks for the time.

k mac. im 17 and in powerlifting also. so i know about cuttin weight and adding strength. but really the best thing you can do is eat great and run. i eat NOTHING but healthy food. i usually eat 5-6 meals a day too. if your really motivated you can do anything. it also helps to have a side sport to run in. such as track, or maybe even football. and in the off-season use the bike (which i love the most of cardio.) and run the treadmill. you probably could even buy supplements. which i know a lot of people on "Hydroxycut". they are also in powerlifting and think that its great. i really dont know too much about supplements but im sure there are some here that do. so theres my advice take it or leave it. Smile

The best advice- Go on a cutting phase, eating smaller meals five or six times a day to lose the weight. Continue training with heavy weight. What you have to do is check out the top of the nutrition forum for the thread "calculate your calorie expenditure." This'll help you figure out how many calories you need to take in every day in order to lose weight. Lifting heavy will make sure your body retains as much muscle as possible during your cut.
