ok - once again search yeilded so much conflicting info, my head is spinning...

at this point, I think the overall info is -
10 gs in the morning, 10 gs after workout, 10 gs before bed.
and on non-workout days - 10 gs in the morning...

does that sound about right? I plan to take it with gatorade or fruit juice...

I am also planning to do a dextrose/creatince mix (5 gs of creatine/day) but I am still unclear about when is the best time to take the creatine - thnx!

Oh boy, MDA is going to have fun with this one since he doesn't think glutamine is all that.

I think glutamine is good and I have had decent sucess with it, but it is a bit expensive. I took it in the morning, before workout, after workout, before bed and only 5 grams each time.

i've been using glutamine since 1996. i take 5 grams when i first wake up and 5 grams right before bed.

i love it myself, but i'm in the minority. Smile

i just take a serving under my tongue and wash it down with h20.

use the dex/creatine mix pwo. on nonworkout days, just take the creatine alone with a meal.

ok - I am confused about why you want all that sugar after a work out - wouldn't it make sence to get the insulin spike before/during a workout...?

just curious...

You can take 2g of creatine before.. and then 2g after... I've done that.. or you can take it all before.. or post.

I've been sticking more with the post workout idea lately.

You don't want sugar before a workout as it spikes your blood sugar and that's it. No long term energy. You want carbs before a workout.

After.. you might be low in glucose, so the theory is, you spike the insuiln levels slightly (dextrose) and take your creatine. It's been shown that creatine gets absorbed better when insulin is higher.

hey mda his question was on glutamine? I only take 10 gms a day one in the morning and 1 at night and you should be fine. Sometimrs i take it 30 mins before and after a workout instead.

I started reading the question like it was on creatine.. even I am confused..

Creatine.. post-workout with an insulin spike

Glutamine during the day.. 2-3x

I read it like we started talking about creatine when the question of an insulin spike arose.
