how i do after crash car!!!!
-
Saturday, July 02, 2005 5:14 AM
I started bodybuilding 1993. I participated at 2 junior competitions. In 1997 I had a car accident and stayed in coma for 3 weeks and a half. Even after I woke up I’ve not been able to move for 4 months because my spine was damaged. I’ve been paralysed for one and a half year in my left leg and I had my right arm was amputated because of the 6 fractures I had in the accident. The doctors were unable to save my arm. When leaving the hospital I started training with an atelle for my paralysed leg and bandages for my arm and legs. Because of the accident, I packed up some 20kg of fat over my body and started a strict diet in 1999 in order to compete in the handicapped category. Here are my stats : 1995 Grand prix d'Orléans WABBA 2nd 1996 Open de Normandie WPF 1st category Handisport IFBB : 1999 Grand prix de Luzarches 2nd 1999 Coupe de Paris à Linas 3rd 1999 demi-finale Nord à Viry-Châtillon 2nd 1999 Finale France à Arles 3rd 2000 Grand prix de luzarches 3rd 2000 demi finale Nord à Linas 1st 2000 Finale france à Toulouse 4th 2002 Champion de France à Cluses 1st 2004 Top de Colmar 1st 2004 Champion de France à valras 1st 2005 champion de France WABBA 1st Later Mickeal !

Your story is very inspiring. U belong in the book of athletes that compete at a high level that r handicapped. I once read a story of a kid who was a national champ wrestler in highschool and had no legs. And the kid he beat to become this said the handicapped kid had an unfair advantage because he was to short. Those kids desrve to not be athletes. They r a disgrace to true athletes such as u.

stephenpowerclean I never saw this post. I was not here then. I am glad you posted in it so I had a chance to read it. horajo's story is inspiring, and for me...emotional...and somethin else I was hit by a car...it hit my kneecap. I was paralyzed in one leg. This happened when I was training, hoping to compete for a teen BB title. I was also being invited as a runner to some pre-Olympic teen training camp. Recovery was painful and I lost focus on the competition for quite a while. When I refocused...unbelievably, I was struck down by another car while riding my bicycle. After this setback...almost inconceivably, as I began training again.. I was struck down by another car while riding my bicycle. I got rid of that bike. Switched to running in stadiums and on tracks when I had recovered. I picked up my training again. I started to make significant gains. Horrifically I was the passenger in a terrible car accident and was hospitalized. 6 months of therapy and I was able to pretty much train unhindered again. I don't want to go on with every explosion, shooting, stabbing, mauling that followed...but unfortunate events followed. Eventually - years later - I was able to train for 18 months without interruption and entered in a couples BB competition...just to get my feet wet. My partner ran off in the final weeks of preparation and I was...injured by a hit and run auto. While I have trained and coached and advised, I have not gotten back to focusing on entering a competition. horajo your story has made me thing twice about this. I have been fortunate in that I have come out of all those accidents and recovered with all my faculties and limbs. Yet, in some way...I was obviously handicapped. Your perseverance and persistence in moving past limitation with your handicap has really made me look at my own handicap. I think its time I start to plan for a full recovery. Thank you.

I am really, REALLY impressed by your dedication. So many people whine and moan about minor difficulties and why they can't get in shape. Your conditioning level is GREAT.
