i read this forum alot and decided to register tonight. i am 17 6 ft 240 and my max bench is around 250. i made a $200 bet with my friend that within 5 months i could get down to 200lbs. do the math...40/5=8lbs a month. i think that is very possible. so i come asking help. i know..looking at my very slight ****-tits and diet i will look a little bit better at 200lbs. cardio gives me nightmares however. i know what you are all ganna say..get on the tread fatboy. lol. i just wnat to know the best route to go to lose the weight and mantain my strength. ive been trying the last 4 days to run miles at a time throught the day...in the morning..afternoon..and night...and lifting every afternoon before my 2nd run. i think im going to load up on protein and cut my calorie intake per day to around 1500..but what the hell do i know. you guys are the experts so help me out thanks alot guys!

What's your caloric intake meant to be 1500 seems too low and check Twisted's plan out I can't find the actual post with the diet but PM him and he should send you the link for it. Do step aerobics with weights, that will burn every ounce of fat on your body and leave you ripped. Most people don't last 15 mins on that sh*t.

do cardio like crazy man.. if i was once a fatboy too wanting to lose weight FAST, but i also lost A LOT of muscle, but damn 200 buck works for me LOL Stick to cardio all along, NEVER eat junk/fast food, lots of vegetables, no fried foods, 6-7 SMALL meals during the day (2000-2500cal TOTAL), no soda, lots of fruit(preferably citrics), don't add salt to food, low sugar diet.. If you do this, you're gonna make it looking good plus you'll be holding 200 bucks while laughing at your friends face, could anybody want more? LOL

Yeah, 1500 calories is WAY too low... With that amount of calories at your weight, you wouldn't be able to cardio period probably. Here's a link that helps you calculate how many calories you need based on your weight and goals. http://www.discussbodybuilding.com/How_Many_Calories_Do_You_Need_Calorie_Calculators_Includes_Quick_Spreadsheet_Too/m_45013/tm.htm Basically, use that link to calculate your maintenance level of calories, then subtract 200-500 calories from that and do TONS of cardio to shed fat. Try taking BCAAs to help you maintain strength/muscle mass while cutting, also. And I would also recommend taking in at least 200g of protein a day at your size, preferably more.

caffeine also speeds up your metablism. a cup or two of green tea might be benfical. also water(like 12 cups a day) and +8 hours of sleep, every night, can help you lose weight and drink tons of water when you eat fatty foods. also you need to do cardio in the moring. i mean the first thing you do when you wake up is to run, or whatever your cardio is. that and after an hour long workout. and your cardio needs to be for atleast 20min just to start burning fat. i use to be 220lbs and 5'10" and i hated running(now i'm 6 foot, 145lbs, ~13%body fat and trying to put some muscle ontop of these bones), i also had a bad back, knee, and ankle. cycling was my thing. i would also highly recomend swimming, and if you go to a gym see what classes they offer, like dance, step arobics, yoga, pilaties. but you want cardio that makes you sweat. those elipical machines i can do for 30min and just start to sweat, if i run for 5min i'm already sweating. personaly i dance, right now 14-16hours of classes a week(hip-hop, ballet, moderen) and i ride my bike to school(3miles one way). and try not to eat before you work out. in the way of foods you need to eat low to no fat foods, and no saturated or trans fat foods. this means you should eat, peas(black eye peas are the best), brown rice, or wild rice, stir fry, chicken, egg whites(no fat or cholesteral in egg whites, just protien and some sodium) tuna(but not everyday because of the mercury) healthy cereal like cherroes or special k and stuff like that. also you might want to have a cheat day, when you can eat most things you want, but don't be all gulitony. and don't be affriad to spice things up with pepper, hot sasuse ect. also your portions/serving sizes needs to be smaller. like the size of your palm should be carbs and meat should be half the size of your palm. and after you have finshed a bowel wait like 10min before getting another serving. theirs a hormen released from your stomach that goes the brian to tell you that your full, but its a slow acting hormone, thats why if you eat fast you can really pile down some food. also sodium makes your body retain water, so when you get close to your weight in time, you might want to cut all sodium in your diet(your body only needs 500mg a day) and drink less water. btw at the end, if you lose the weight you'll end up spending all the money on new clothes. thats if you can make your friend cough up the cash.
