hello, im all new to the weight lifting thing and need to lose weight, but not only that i want to look buffer. So basically i want to lose fat and gain muscle at the same time. My friend has been taking creatine and he looks great, and i was thinking about taking it and some protein shakes at the same time.  Now my question is 1. is creatine or the protein shakes ill be taking fatening? i really have never lifted before except to see how much i could do and here was the reslult in the benching. age 15, height 6'3" weight: 230 bench:230-max.  I just joined a 24/7 gym to help me out and from what iv read creatine has no great negative effects(known effects). also are there any great diets and workout plans people have been going by?  Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

forget about the creatine man, you have no idea what youre doing or what it does. Your a total beginner, what you need to do is go to your gym and experiment and ask us any questions you got(trust me you'll have tons of em), we'll put you on a right track

I would suggest LOOSING most of that fat,This will take a while, least a few months but after that you have a GREAT base for gaining straight muscle, when you loose most of your fat it is alot easier to Bulk up with mass and the cutting is alot easier. Only thing i would suggest is a Whey Protein supplement , I dont think your quite ready for creatine, especially if you havnt been lifting before, you should read about its effects and how it will help you.

Supplements only give you about a 3% advantage; the rest (97%) is your exercising and diet.  Focus on those for your goals and forget the supplements (except protein shakes!) until you've reached some of your advanced goals.  Check out Marc's (co-owner of this site) The Beginner's Guide to Fitness and Bodybuilding (http://www.beginning-bodybuilding.com/) which has a bunch of good articles especially helpful to beginners--hence the title!  I'm not Marc's agent, don't get any points or compensation for recommending, etc., blah blah blah. :)

Thats right all have to worie about is working out only one advise dont get 2 exited or ull overwork ur muscle and thats no good ive lost 5 months with that when i was a beginner (im 15 lol) well i just got on the right track my self, and dont anyone to experience it.......right now think about how much u eat, and how much protein is in that food, if u just beginning u dont have to take protein shakes, since chicken, fish, eggs, milk, yougurt, and such have planty of protein in it, but if u want to, than take some right after lifting, and aprox. 30 min. before going to sleep, since u beginner, ull muscle will grow rele fast now, and ull fell ur muscle growing, one advise, dont work your muscle if its still sore, give it as much time as it has to take to recover!!

Good Luck!!!
Best  Wishes:

Ohhh yeah Creatine, if u want to take it than buy Creatine Monohydrate (Powder) somehow its more effective than Creatine in pills........but all creatine does, it makes ur muscle keep more water in it, so ur muscles will look bigger, also it gives u a little little little bit more power when u lifting weights, so u could actually lift harder, but just a littlebit, and if u want more creatine to get into ur muscle u have to eat some sugar, sugar gets more creatine into ur sistem, and not actually waist.

My advise to u, is dont take creatine yet try lifting for at least 4 monts, to get some muscle, and than u might take it....but note not more than twice a day, 5g each serving.
