heart rate monitors

Wow, I did a search, and there were only two posts on heart rate monitors--one from 2003 and another from 2005. And none were very specific.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a decent, water-proof/resistant heart rate monitor (usually come as a wristwatch/chest band combo)?
