any more than 2lbs a week of weight loss is said to be the maximum. Anymore than 2lbs a week you're risking losing muscle. So at about 2lbs a week starting today you're looking at the end of april. Goodluck

It'll take more than simple "dieting" to lose those 40-lbs in a healthy way. Perhaps you already understand that. Make sure that your exercise program is up to snuff and that your "diet" is smartly constructed (NOT a constant caloric deficit). Keep in mind that it probably took you longer than a few months to accumulate that body fat. Expecting/hoping that it will come off quickly isn't realistic, of course.

ORIGINAL: ironraider52 that kinda sucks....because now i have to diet for like 5 more months lol. What are you dieting for? Sounds like you're dieting to lose weight for <some event here> and then welcome all the weight that will return? Personally, I want to change my weight to not only look better, but to increase my overall health and feel better about my self.

If you want to lose weight, you should try eating small amounts of diversified food 5 times a day, at regular hours. Try to eat more at breakfast, because the calories you get will be burnt during the day. Also, try eating less at the last meal of the day, so that when you sleep you don't have to burn those calories. Of course, this must be combined with at least 1h/day of exercise in the gym or at home ..
