I am a 16 year old male and i believe i suffer from gynecomastia. I know what alot of people say about it going away in a couple of years, but i have had a fatty chest since i was 8 or 9. I was always overweight until recently. I was around 185 at 5'8" and dropped to 150 and around 9-10% bf. I still had the breasts. Since then I decided that i wanted to bulk, i now weigh 170 and still suffer from enlarged breasts. My bf is probly around 13-14%, but i don't think my chest should be this large or fat. I can't seem to load a picture but i will be happy to email a picture to anyone who can help. also Any comments would be helpful. -thank you

i too have gyno, i am 21 years old and have had it since i was about 12. it doesnt go away and never will. hate to break the news to you, until they come out with a drug to get rid of it, you will always have it. unless you get surgery for it. which is around 7 to 10,000.00! and insurance will not cover it. already asked. see gyno isnt just fat, its an accumulation of fat that is under and around the nipple area. if you feel a lump and can kind of move it around with the palm of your hand, then yes you do have gyno. if you dont have a lump of fat under or around your nipple, then you just have a fat chest that does come to men usually when they are about to reach puberty. and it can last a while, but usually if you just have a fat chest you can exercise and diet to loose that. or get lipo for your chest, which is only around 5 grand. but again insurance will not cover it.

by the way if you do actually have gyno, dont get the lipo or try to sweat your chest down, because then you will have a flat or muscular chest with lumps sticking out from behind your nipples, and can actually push them out and/or make them puffy. trust me, when i dropped weight for the military, i lost a lot of fat in my chest and next thing i know i had puffy nips. they do make a prescription drug to stop gyno from accelerating, like if you notice the lump getting bigger, but its a pain in the ass to get the prescription and it doesnt rid of gyno. there are a few things you could try, it helped me get rid of a little of my gyno, but not all. you can try a supplement called CLA, it helps with the embalance of estrogen to testosterone. which is the reason for gyno. do not take a testosterone supplement!!!! trust me all that will happen is you will actually make it worse. its already there and if you dont need more testosterone, then your gyno will get worse. so you can actually go and have blood work done to test your testosterone, and if you have a low count then you will get prescribed medication to up it. but it usually comes in liquid form. which you inject, not injest. another thing is work out, but when you hit your chest, do isolation exercises only. no presses of any kind. flyes are the best because they stretch your muscles which will make them bigger and isolates them so that your entire chest work out goes only to your chest.

my chest is pretty muscular at the top and it kinda just sticks out right above the nipple. I'm pretty sure i have gyno from everything i've read up about it. I take CLA already and im going to get a doctors appointment setup sometime soon. As for butterflies, i have done them every week for the last couple of months (probly 4-5). I notice, again, my uppper chest has increased in definition but it has done nothing for the area that is the worst. right around the nipple.im pretty positive my bf is no where over 15%, but i dont intend to cut again for awhile (maybe a little bit before summer. I am tired of hearing that im too small from my football coaches (i play fullback) I can't seem to stop benching though...its one of my fafavorite excercises and benefits my upper body strength quite a lot, and strength is important to me as i wrestle, play football, and swim. thanks for the advice...i'll continue with the CLA andbutterflies. i've also been recomended a product called rebound xt...any comments on it?

ive never heard of that product. just make sure that you research before you buy. after replying to you last night, i looked up some more information on gyno and found that some supplements might cause it, anything that increases hormones basically can make gyno worse. but things like thermogenics are alright. a friend told me that he used amino acids with fish oil and it worked pretty good for him. what i ended up doing was last night i did a lot of research, thought about what my goals were. since i want an almost flat chest i decided that when it comes to working my chest out, i will just train with low weight and high reps. because you actually have to burn as much of that gyno fat off before you bulk up your chest. otherwise the gyno will just push out with your chest as it develops. i understand that being in sports and just for fun you want bragging rights of being strong when it comes to benching, as well as i do, so i still bench, but that is the only exercise i do for my chest for strength, not size. i arch my shoulders when benching so that it isolates my chest better and it actually works wonders on the lower chest and mid chest. i read to arch my back and shoulders from an article in this site, forgot which one though. but it did work. and along with benching with heavy weight and low reps, i do all three flyes, incline, flat, and decline. but i use light weight and high reps. and i only rest for about 15 seconds in between sets, where as with the strength training, i rest for about 2 minutes. the amount of time inbetween sets is what helps with recovery and build up or definition of that muscle. if you have any more questions just ask, i have studied up on basically all the different types of weight training and a lot on gyno. and yeah i am about 30 pounds overweight, but i was lazy for a long time and now i have gotten back in it.
