Thanks, i read it, from my understanding of the article it isent all that safe, because your body can come dependent on it and stop producing its own growth hormones, so you will be stuck with the artificial stuff for life...So im not going to risk taking it, even when im older, because of what i read it can still have bad effects at any age. Thanks for the link man, that was a good article. And it also talks about natural ways too increase your growth hormone which is safe, its basically just things that we do anyway working out. Here it is, i think some of you might want to read it so here Enhancing Growth Hormone release would be a great thing if you could achieve it through natural means. The good news is that this is possible through proper nutrition and training. This can be accomplished by the following: 1. Performing short, high intensity workouts lasting only 40 -60 minutes. 2. Double splitting your weight training. Do two short sessions (i.e. chest in the morning and triceps in the evening) lasting about 30 to 45 minutes each instead of one long workout. 3. Progressively increasing workout intensity, but not duration. 4. Allowing sufficient recovery time between workouts (do not lift more than two days in a row). 5. Getting eight hours of sound, uninterrupted sleep (or whatever amount you've found keeps you rested and recovered). 6. Taking a 30-60 minute nap whenever possible. 7. Using basic, multi-joint exercises like Squats, deadlifts and rows. A 20-rep squat cycle will release growth hormone naturally and get you growing like no supplements ever will. 8. Keeping alcohol intake to a minimum or not drinking at all. 9 Avoiding refined sugars. Focusing on natural starchy and fibrous carbohydrates. 10. Consuming lean proteins at frequent intervals throughout the day. 11. Getting adequate amounts of the "good fats." 12. Getting lean and stay lean. 13. Avoiding stress and relaxing. yea so thats it, basically its things we should do anyway if we are weight lifting.

There is nothing in the world that can make you taller. There are things that can stunt your growth as you grow up... but nothing to make you taller.

genetics makes height, nutrition accounts for at most 10% of it id say... While marc posted that thing which is a brilliant article il post my knowledge your bones have growth plates in them, and the pituitary gland releases HGH which enters these growth plates and it extends the bones and makes you taller, you have a certain amount of these plates, and a certain amount of HGH going into each. the more HGH and plates you have the taller you should become, once these plates have ossified (for most women its aged 13, men aged 16, despite people saying guys grow til theyre 25, this is not commonly true, the height you grow in your twenties is so little it is nothing to brag about, when im 25 if i dont have another growth spurt i could brag about my amazing extra added height to make me 5'11.0001" get my point? lol, john cleese for example is 6'4 3/4" and he was that height aged 13, he stopped growing aged 13, everyone is different, and some guys can have MASSIVE growth spurts during there twenties or very late teens, but it is more common for guys to stop growing aged 16 at the oldest, its between 14-16) Once the bones have ossified and the plates have closed HGH cannot enter to make you taller.

kris i dont completely agree with you the growth hormone is administered to shorter children whose parents are insecure with their childs height this is not meant to offend bousa, it is just usually the parents i have watched many a discovery channel program and it is usually the parents who urge the child into thinkin that there is somethin wrong with their height also kris there is that controlled bone breakin operation/treatment i know the growth hormone thing because i had a friend that took the shots when she was younger grew like a couple of inches in a year, 2 or 3 somethin like that it is expensive tho and from what i have heard the overall cost to benefit ratio is not always worth it for some people

People and certain doctors claim growth hormones can help children (who are still growing anyways) grow taller. They can't help someone who has already finished growing. Also... it's a little hard to prove how much, if at all, growth hormones helped a child grow in height. I can't rule out they don't do anything, but at the same time I can't say they do anything.

I say just be happy with what you've got I'm 6'3" and I always thought I wanted to be this tall but its not that great, well I mean it will be once I get like 75 lbs of lean meat packed on but thats going to take probally a decade or so. But for real its not that great being a few inches taller. it kinda sucks finding pants and shorts that fit right some times. Or dress shirts- those are the worst, because normal stores shirts sleves arent long enough, and you go to like "BIG and tall" and they completly forget about the tall part and dont have anything under a 2xlt!

I'll second that. Sometimes I wish I had shorter legs and arms -then a little beef would go a long way. But hey, I'll just bust my hump that much harder to make the best of what I've got to work with. And yeah, I'm getting real sick of leaving Hecht's empty-handed every time I go shopping for 32/34 jeans. Not for much longer, I hope, LOL.

Yes, that's me in my avatar, and NO, I don't look like that today. That was taken back in Jan '07, and I lost most of that progress when I slacked off last year. I'm on my way back, tho, and I'm using that photo for inspiration.
