i recently started working with the world record holder in squat and deadlift in the 155 pound class, and it is incredible how much weight he can move so easily.

that's pretty cool.. you'll have to share some of the tips and info you get from him.. If he's a world record holder I'm sure he has a wealth of knowledge to share..

ya, whats WH?  wide hand? lol,  dang thats awsome you are training with him.  720lb squat is pretty insane.  what has he said about having a higher squat than deadlift.  i've always known the deadlift to be the strongest of the three.  interesting..

Equipped guys usually have higher squat numbers mostly due to the better range of squat suits as compared to d/l suits.  For instance, Donnie thompson who has the highest total ever in meet squatted 1155 and pulled only 795.  Raw lifters usually are the other way around.
Bench- 315 Squat- 345 Dead-  515

Total- 1175

Jane

Mr. Bojangles...those numbers are insane. You train this person?

yea almost daily, the other day the local news team came out and did a story on him and took video of him benching deadlifting and squating, he did 600 squat and deadlift 4 times each raw with no suit and benched 405 3 times.

Good info, interesting to hear his opinion on back exercises and not to do unsupported rows and such.

Looking at the calculator section, have you guys noticed that every site these things are completely off?  It seams like my bench is much higher than what these calculate off of pretty much any rep range.  Maybe I need to grab a weight and make sure I am actually going to failure, I guess they are pointless anyways if I try to bench high single reps once in a while.

i thought that was interesting too.  he discourages any kind of unsupported lower back excersises to save it for squat and deadlifts.  i think he said something like those two lifts are enough work for your lowerback.   i may have read that somewhere else in a book or something though.

it makes sense though, i have a hard enough time with my back recovering anyways.  But I honestly don't think some sets of barbell rows done the same day as deadlifts is going to put you overboard.  But then again I'm not the one lifting over 1500 lbs.
