I was doing a couple more sets than i should have when it happened, but i lifted my traps with a barbell that only had about 180 lbs on the bar and when i went for the 7'th set i got this weird feeling of pressure in the back lower right of my head when i raised the bar up, so i stopped. I thought it might have been a one time thing that just happened so i went for it again and again it happened i remembered to exhale when raising the bar and it didnt happen, but when i would hold my breath to squeeze out a couple more it came back so i quit for the day. I dont know if it will continue but has anyone else had this happen? I was reading on other bodybuilding sites and people complained of a sharp pain in the same spot or on the left side, but no one had anything to say about it really.

wouldn't lowering the weight lower my gains? I can comfortably do about 7 sets of 10 at 180lbs, the only reason i'll do less at higher rep/set ranges is because my forearms will give out before my traps do, i'll try to lower the weight though and give it a few days.

I would be more inclined to tell you to lower the sets... 7 sets is ridiculous, and shrugs? Your doing 70 reps for an isolation, and thats not counting anything else your doing that is hitting your traps. you dont even need to do shrugs if your doing heavy deadlifts, and judging by you shrugging 180 for 10 reps...your deadlift isnt very high. Do yourself a favor and go with heavy deadlifts, at the very least drop the sets down to 2-3...7 is way too much.
