As I am tracking my progress my body fat calculation method just (had to have ) became extreemly inacurate.

Supposedly (I wish ) I went from 26% ( i had suspected that read was maybe a little high (I am female, so I am not shooting for 5% or anything like that ), down to 16% in three weeks. I lost 8 lbs in those three, I can, and do believe that I achieved the impossible drean and put on a pound or 2 of muscle (but not  much as my calculator would indicate, it claims somewhere around 10 lbs)

I know that all of these Bf calculators are inaccurate but I really just lost my baseline.

I used to be morbidly obese so my skin is not so taught, If I did calipers I think they would give me a very false reading as well.

Not going to get to the doctors any time soon, and don't go to a gym so I don't have access to fancy machines.

As it stands now I measure my 12 or more sites on my body just for my records, to make sure I stay on track but when it comes time to reevalute my caloric needs, (and to full fill my curiosity) , I'm at loss for a Bf calculator method.

The system I currently use uses 4 spots to measure.

Any body got anything or am I SOL utill I hit the docs?

Well if 8 pounds was 10% of your original body mass then you'd have a starting mass of 80 pounds.  so i'd say the BF%s are way, way off.

You'll need to go in for a REAL BF test.  There are very advanced methods these days... can cost some $ tho.

Try using the womens tape measure method(Bottom of the page in pink).... Mine seems to be right on, but my wifes is off... BF is a tricky thing when you got some extra skin, I feel for ya... I was around40%+. Great job on the loss though!

thanks a bunch coop, great link! I will be having tape measure fun on Satuday morning. My current BFI uses the wrist as the baseline not the neck, so this is indeed different for me, we'll see. Extra skin sucks!
