gdss4life's Journal - Wednesday, May 05, 2004 4:57 PM
Hi All,

I guess it’s about time I started a journal. Having to record my stats/routine will hopefully make me stay on track.

3 days before the start of the contest. It will be more of a race against myself rather than the other members. My reason for entering the contest - to give me an extra push. Having gone through a lot of things in the past 2 years, I'm starting to put things back together and on the right track - my physical capabilities, well-being and appearance are the next on my list. I'm hoping I'll see my desired results by the end of the summer.

Current Stats
Age: 23
Weight: 168lbs
Height: 5'6''
BF%: 29%
Waist: 36.5
(Other measurements recorded at bodybuildingjournal.com)

Workout: (Tuesdays = Rest day)

Cardio
5-6x week (early morning run)
2 laps brisk walk to warm up
20-25 minutes running (I'm trying to alternate the speed/intensity during the laps as opposed to a steady pace)
2 laps brisk walk to cool down

Weight Training
Afternoons, alternating days of upper body & lower body/mid-section. 10 minute warm up on elliptical or bike

Upper Body Day:
Flat DB Bench: (2x15@10)
Push ups: (2 x as many as possible)
Lat Pull Downs: (3x12@40)
Lat Row: (2x10@35)
Shoulder Press: (2x12@8)
Tri Kick-Back: (3x10@5) (I know I need to improve in this area)
Bicep Curls: (3x10@12)

Lower Body / Ab Day:
Ball squats: (3x12 with 8lb weights)
Lunges: (3x as many as I can do with 5lb weights)
Hamstring Curls: (3x12@35)
Stiff Leg D-Lifts (2x10)

Roman Chair: (3x as many as I can do)
Crunches: (3x as many as I can do)
Side-to-Side: (3x as many as I can do)

Other Activities
Giving racquetball a second chance, (a few times a week when my sister plays)

Diet
I consider it to be healthy. Will make an attempt to post a meal journal on fit day or here. Getting tired of tofu so I will be trying to eat fish again (chicken, beef, eggs, and other things are still out of the question). Past week has been somewhat difficult, with meal options and timing - planning on getting back on track tomorrow.

I didn’t know how specific I should be but here’s the list of items I’m currently taking: multivitamin, vitamin A and E, calcium, fish oil capsules, flax seed oil, an iron supplement, GNC’s greens plus, and protein powder every second day or so.

Although I have taken pics. I’d prefer not to post them (yet anyways).

Did not go for a run today due to feeling ill - made up for it at the gym.

Today's focus - Mid/Lower body
