not really sure where this should go...anyways 2 a days have really turned my body to **** this week. I feel like im overtrained and in tha morning i get up and cant even walk for a while. Its mostly tha shin splints but i also landed on a helmet the other day and messed up my lower back. Its really affecting my practices and i cant go all out. The obvious answer is to lay off of it for a bit but i cant because ive got 3 more days of camp left and then practice everday after that. Im just really frustrated because there doesnt seem to be anyway to solve this.

yea well i messed up tha back at tha end of thursdays 2nd practice. Didnt sleep that night. yesterday we only had one morning practice and then pictures. In tha morning i went to him he asked me if i could finish tha practice half speed and i said okay, on a gram of ibuprofen and he had me ice it afterward. Im thinkin im just gonna have to sit out of practice for a bit which sucks and idk what coaches are gonna think about tha whole thing.

If its really that bad I would explain to the coaches how much of a puss you are, :P j/p If its that bad have a talk with them and let them know you are hurt, sit out a practice or 2 and just recoop. eat/sleep/rest. heat the area of the back that hurts a few times a day. Your coaches know that sitting out 2 practices now is infinitly better being lack luster during the season, or even you not playing in the season. You said yourself its keeping you from going 100% thats reason enough to sit out a few days.

your coaches would much rather have you sit out a few practices then try to practice with all of this and hurting yourself way worse

Stretch and do foot raises. It's the opposite of a calf raise, heel down, everything else up. Get into the habit of doing it when you're eating, and when you're on here, or watching TV. I'm constantly doing them, and I practice hard without shin splints.

From the information you provided, you should be a healthy and performing athlete. Here are a few suggestions: -If your cleats are old, invest in newer ones with more padding on the bottom. -Avoid the weight room. Putting immense pressure from cleans and squats then running football style drills will destroy and put too much pressure on the already weakened shin muscle fibers. -The X-Ray will show nothing, but if the problem becomes unbearable, an MRI and deep soft-tissue scan might be necessary; however, this will end with the doctor NOT clearing you to play. -Another method, now listen, which I've heard works that the Chinese specialize in is Accupuncture. Essentially electric stimulation with the addition of needle treatment. I have family members who had frozen shoulder, and rotator cuff issues that avoided PT and tried Accu and it worked after the first session. Worth 10 minutes of research maybe... -Last, and final piece of advice: If you plan to play in higher levels and your coach knows your performance level as well as isn't piece of trash; Rest, and heal for the upcoming season. However, if you just plan to play for HS and never hit the field with this much intensity again, then hell with it. Play on. And if you're coach is a piece of trash, then you're gonna have to do what I did for lacrosse when I had just severed 3 tedons in my right wrist.(Right Handed btw) -12 motrin daily(3 in the morning, 3 at lunch, 3 pre-game, 3 post game) -20 minute warm up alone to get the blood circulating in the hand before actual practice. -Wear wrist brace every night It sucked, but if you want to play...

Oh, I would go to the doctor and get some Naproxin (sp?). It's like ibuprofrien but twice as strong, and a prescription only. It's not a pain killer or anything, it's a more concentrated dose of ibu, so you don't have to take as many pills basically.

After you play football your body is never the same. I promise. But every knick is up to you. Thinking back I had a few good knocks to the head that I shouldn't have played through, but I did. There were some back issues that I could have played through that I didn't. But all in all its your body. You only get one and if you need 2 days to recover take 2 days. Tell the coach to eff off and come back playing lights out. He'll have to play you if you play well enough.

First thing I want to ask is what did you decide RollingStone? Was it your senior season? Really, what I'm getting at, is was it worth it? =) I'm so excited for my last year, I just want to konw how it felt.
