hello there! i am 27 year old. I have 177cm and 66 kg. I workout 3 days in week. My program is like this: 1. Squats 3*6-10 2. Semi-Stiff Deadlift 2*5-8 3. Setting Calf Rises 2*10-20 4. Wide Grip chin Ups ( cant do much at this time, using wide lat pulldown) 2*5-8 5. Flat Bench Press 2*5-8 6. Seated Dumbbel Presses 2*5-8 7. Seated Close Grip Row 2*5-8 8. Hammer Curls 2*5-8 9. Triceps Pushdown 2*5-8 10. Crunches 3*15-20 I want to gain weight, and i am consuming 3000-3500 kcal. I am ecto and gaining weight is difficult for me. When its good time to to split routine?

You apparently have high metabolism, thats good :) I reccomend working on your arms :) -In arms, main muclses are: -Forearm=wrist curls of different forms, or overhand preacher curl -Bicep=I reccomend the simple standing barbell curl, for me it works best in terms of good gains -Tricep=bench press, tricep dips, (other excersise exist, but i dont know thier names really well) -Shoulder=striaght arm raise. dont bend the arms, use your shoulder to lift them up and down.

You're obviously a blank canvas at the moment, enjoy the ''newb'' gains while you can. I think by next summer if you stick solidly to a regime and diet you will have put on some real size.

what about Starting Strenght program. Its probably good for beginers, and only few compound exercises. I am not satisfy with my curent program. I am also interested in Jefferson The Hardgainer Project X Workout. Its very different from other programs, specialy made for hardgainers, but am i a hardgainer. I hear a lot of people asking this question, but it seems to me it is just an exuse. What do you experts think?? Sorry my language is not well, but i am trying :).

There is no such thing as a hardgainer, only those who don't eat enough and call themselves hardgainers! Trust me, I NEVER gained weight from 16 or so until I was 37. Once I became very friendly with my fork, I then put on an easy 36 pounds, and still gaining. If you are still finding it difficult to gain weight at 3000-3500 cal, add 500 more and see what happens. Starting Strength is a GREAT routine for you if you are just starting out. PS - I'm no expert, just an extreme ecto who is gaining mass by eating more and lifting heavy 3x a week.

Some may use the term Hardgainer to excuse the fact that they can't gain weight. However some people, like myself, have a very high metabolism that requires a significant amount of calories in order to properly build muscle. Everyone has to find their own balance. If you find you're not gaining weight by working out and taking proper rest days it's most likely one of two things: a) your workouts are not intense enough or b) you are not eating enough calories. Good luck!
