I am new to this forum. I have been training for 10 years. I am 29 years old, 5'8, 140 lbs. I have never really tried supplements before and I am wondering if anyone knows much about them and how good they are for you? At one point I was taking protein supplements and I gained a lot of water! Are supplements necessary to build muscle. My goals have always been to gain lean muscle and be toned. I have never been able to meet my goals. I have always worked really hard and did not see the results I wanted, then my motivatation goes and I don't weightlifting and just run! It is always the same story. I really want to train lean muscle and be extremely fit. Can anyone help me! Thanks in advance.

if you haven't gotten lean in 10 years of training, i bet its your diet that needs help. not your supplementation.

Ditto to what the others have said. The problem, with 95% probability, is in your diet and possibly even in your training routine. Why dont you post those 2 things up and we will try to point you in the right direction. You might not even need any supplements at all.
