I am new to this forum. I have been training for 10 years. I am 29 years old, 5'8, 140 lbs. I have never really tried supplements before and I am wondering if anyone knows much about them and how good they are for you? At one point I was taking protein supplements and I gained a lot of water! Are supplements necessary to build muscle. My goals have always been to gain lean muscle and be toned. I have never been able to meet my goals. I have always worked really hard and did not see the results I wanted, then my motivatation goes and I don't weightlifting and just run! It is always the same story. I really want to train lean muscle and be extremely fit. Can anyone help me! Thanks in advance.

if you haven't gotten lean in 10 years of training, i bet its your diet that needs help. not your supplementation.

Ditto to what the others have said. The problem, with 95% probability, is in your diet and possibly even in your training routine. Why dont you post those 2 things up and we will try to point you in the right direction. You might not even need any supplements at all.

As with most answers, it is all relative to the person. I have trained many gals to buff up and doing so on food alone, supplements help if you have diet limitations that's for sure and the protein effect well you can try severl types, brands etc and they will not all affect you with water gains. Post up your diet and training and we can help! Linda
