favorite REAL food sources for PPROTEIN???

I am pretty new to this bulking diet stuff; I would like to hear what all you experienced people have to say about protein and where you like to get it in your diet.

I know all the usual sources:

chicken
lean red meat
tuna
peanut butter
etc..

what about dairy?
I am tracking my diet, and I find a fair amount of my protein is comming from milk, and other dairy products - I probably get 30-50 grams per day that way.
Cottage cheese seems like a good source of protein
- any one else like other types of cheese for protein (I know with most types of cheese the negative side is alot of fat comes along with it)

and what about vegatables?
I try and get lentils or other types of beans in where I can...

Whole oats. I was shocked to find out the amounts of protein in a bowl of oats.

Oats and pasta do not provide complete proteins so are not ideal. Best include:

* Fish
* red meat
* poulty
* eggs
* cottage cheese
* milk
* beans and rice combo
* nuts

Pretty much in that order.

Twin Peak's list sounds about right.

However, two things to factor in are age and family heart history. Red meat and eggs are great for protein, but contain high amounts of that artery-clogging killer known as CHOLESTEROL.

If your young and have no family history of heart problems, you need not worry too much about the meat and eggs.

However, if you a bit older (30+), or if your family history (especially your direct male bloodline) includes heart attacks or heart disease, you might want to be wary of how much red meat and eggs you include in your diet.

I love a nice steak & egg breakfast just as good as the next guy, but then again i want to live to be 100 too!

I've lost 50lbs. since 6-2-03 on a low-carb diet. I have been lifting again 3 days a week since July. I drink an EAS low-carb protein shake every morning. Is anyone familiar with these? They claim to have 15 grams of protein and only 4 grams of total fat. I eat alot of Tuna and chicken. I'm also taking CLA as well.

Pasta as a good protein source? Or whole wheat?

When you calculate the protein content you will see that both are mainly carbo sources, in fact, the protein to calorie ration means that neither is a good source, after that, look at the amino profile, it isn't complete...

Eggs, fish, meat, milk products...

There are your good protein sources...
