Calcium Pyruvate. The biochemistry theory of it is very sound, plus it has real studies showing that it is effective. But of course like any other fat-buring supplement, it's just there to give you a little extra help on top of your deit and exercise.

The best hasn't yet hit the market. It will soon. But I digress. What's the "theory" behind CP? Through what mechanisms does it work, etc.

If you look at the Kreb's cycle: Kreb's Cycle you see at the top of this diagram pyruvate is a catalyst. The Kreb's cycle is what burns fat to make energy, so by making pyruvate more avilable, you can help the process along. That's the theory. In the actual real world test's I've seen, it does make people burn fat faster.

I don't really believe in any of those fat burner supplement anymore. I tried Total Lean from GNC last week for a few days. The package says "Boosts Energy & Metabolism" but I only see a very slight different in my energy level while I was exercising. I drank a cup of condense green tea the day before I started taking Total Lean and I got a lot more energy from the green tea compare to Total Lean. I only took 1 pill instead of 2 as recommended though. I read those customer reviews and a few of them said that taking 2 pills make them jittery and lose sleep. I only took 1 pill and I still couldn't sleep. By the way, I really think that green tea is very good for your body. I think as long as you exercise regularly and have a healthy, consistent low fat diet you won't need those supplement. But again, I only tried one supplement. I probably need to try a few more before I can have a say in this. But no thanks, I think I am going to stick with my regular exercise and diet. I know that the process of losing BF takes time and there is no such a thing as a quick fix. That's why I am taking my time and be patient. It is true that you can probably lose 10 lbs or more within a few days by taking some supplement BUT you are not losing BF. You only lose body liquid and go to the bathroom a lot. It is the same thing as taking laxative I think. Once you stop taking it your weight will come back again. From what I learned from this website, thanks a lot to all of you who help me , it is BF that you want to lose and you want to keep/gain lean muscle. By the way, I think those infomercials need to use their brains when making an infomercial. How can you gain muscle and all of that just by taking a supplement? Do you know what I am talking about? They show you the before and after pictures. The before pictures show obese people or people who want to lose weight. The after pictures, after taking those supplements, show people with six pack and huge muscle. HOW CAN THAT BE??? IMHO, that's just 100% BS. I think it is misleading people who don't know that it is not possible to gain muscle just from taking a supplement. You need to exercise on a regular basis, go on a consistent low fat diet, lose those excess BF to get six pack and muscle to show. But again, I am a new member with a limited amount of information. I am sure there a few of you who don't agree with me. I am just expressing what I think. All of you are free to express your opinion againts mine
